One month and two weeks. That's how long it is until college starts again, and until the "mates" contract is over. Why? Because Felix asked for a trial, and so, the kids gave it to him. Two months of the winter break.

And he cannot believe that two weeks had already passed so fast.

Today was his date with Seungmin. They planned to just stay at Felix's apartment and chill, cook dinner, and have fun playing games and watching TV while cuddling and drinking iced tea. It sounded good to Felix, and Seungmin agreed to it, so what's the harm?

While Felix was cleaning the house a bit, Seungmin went to buy some drinks and some snacks to eat while watching a movie or something. He didn't really care what it was; he just wanted to hold Felix.

Felix was just checking to see if the place was clean one last time when he heard the doorbell. He almost tripped going over to open the door but managed not to. He opened the door, and in came Seungmin with two bags in his hands.

"Hey hyung, sorry if I'm late," Seungmin said, giving Felix a soft smile that is oh-so rare. "I got caught up at the store. Hope you haven't been waiting too long."

Felix shook his head, returning the smile. "Not at all. I was just finishing up some cleaning. Come on in."

Seungmin set the bags down on the kitchen counter and began unpacking. "I got some popcorn, fizzy drinks, and a few other snacks. Also, picked up ingredients for dinner. How do you feel about making pasta?"

"Pasta sounds perfect," Felix said, feeling a rush of excitement. "Let's get started."

They worked together in the kitchen, chopping vegetables, boiling pasta, maybe or maybe not almost setting the fire alarm off as well, and preparing a rich tomato sauce.

Their conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and playful teasing. Felix found himself stealing glances at Seungmin, appreciating the way his eyes sparkled like a puppy when he talked about something he was passionate about, or insulting Felix about being a bronze with his puppy smile.

Once dinner was ready, they sat at the small dining table, enjoying the meal they had prepared together. It tasted a bit burned but better than Felix had imagined, and he couldn't help but feel proud of their teamwork.

After dinner, they moved to the living room, where Seungmin set up the scary movie he had mentioned. Felix had always been a bit of a scaredy-cat when it came to horror films, but he didn't mind if it meant being close to Seungmin.

His scent is so refreshing and calming.

They settled on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn and fizzy drinks in hand.

As the movie played, Felix found himself getting more and more jumpy. Every sudden scare made him cling to Seungmin, who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying both the movie and Felix's reactions.

At one particularly frightening moment, Felix practically leaped into Seungmin's arms, "AHH, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT???" Felix yelled, causing both of them to burst into laughter.

"You're such a scaredy-cat, hyung," Seungmin teased, wrapping an arm around him and placing his head on the older's shoulder. "But I kind of like it."

Felix blushed but didn't pull away. "Well, at least you're here to protect me."

When the movie ended, they decided to play a drinking game. The rules were simple but effective, and it wasn't long before both of them were feeling the effects of the alcohol.

They laughed and talked about everything under the sun, the conversation becoming more uninhibited as the night wore on.

"H-heh, I 'eally l-like you, hyung-ah. The others d-do too." Seungmin practically hicupped the whole sentance, making Felix laugh through his own hicups as well.

At some point, amidst the laughter, they found themselves leaning closer and closer.

"Hi, haha." Felix said, his eyes half closed.

"H-hi hung, 'eheh." Seungmin said before something soft touched his lips.

It was soft and sweet, the kind of kiss that felt both spontaneous and inevitable. The memory of it was already fuzzy, but Felix knew it had felt right in the moment, deny it or not.

Eventually, they fell asleep on the couch, with Felix as the little spoon, comfortably nestled in Seungmin's arms with Seungmin scenting Felix carefully, crooning softly at the omega.

The alpha woke up at 11 p.m. He gently disentangled himself from Felix and called one of his mates, Chan, to pick him up from Felix's apartment. He placed a blanket over Felix, who stirred slightly but didn't wake.

A few minutes later, Seungmin received a call back from Chan, letting him know he was outside. Seungmin leaned down and kissed Felix on the forehead, a soft smile on his lips. "Goodnight, Felix hyung," he whispered before quietly leaving the apartment.

...

Felix woke up feeling cold at around 9 a.m. He looked around, seeing the living room dirty, remnants of food and drinks on the floor and table.

As he tried to piece together the events of the night, a blush crept up his cheeks at the memory of their kiss.

He picked up his phone and saw a message from Seungmin.

PUPPY 🐶

Seungmin: Had to leave, sorry, hyung. I really enjoyed this date! Hope we can do this again.
P.S: you're a pretty good kisser 🤭

Felix blushed even harder, then internally slapped himself before waddling to his bedroom to get a few more hours of sleep.

He laid down, a smile playing on his lips and a girly squeal escaping as he thought about Seungmin's text.

The future seemed bright, and Felix was excited to see where it would lead.
