When Felix awoke again, he immediately felt the gnawing, all-consuming ache flare through his body, worse than any of the days prior. He gasped, his breaths shallow, as waves of heat pulsed under his skin. It was as if his whole being was wrapped in the fiercest fire, demanding, clawing for any relief. His body felt oversensitive, his skin tingling with each desperate shiver that wracked him. He reached out instinctively, searching for the warmth, the touch, anything that would quell the ache in his heart and soothe the craving that had become unbearable.
Chan had been his source of comfort over the last two days, his steady presence a soothing balm in Felix's turbulent state. But today, he was alone. Felix vaguely remembered Chan whispering reassurances before he left, a promise that he'd be back as soon as he could. Chan's voice had been gentle, his touch light, but now Felix found himself grasping at emptiness, the loneliness amplifying his already consuming need.
Felix managed to push himself up, his entire body trembling as he moved from the bed. On the kitchen counter, he found the plate of food and the suppressants Chan had left for him. He knew he should eat, take the suppressant to ease his suffering, but right now, even those seemed to pale against the urgent ache radiating through him. He braced himself on the counter, forcing himself to take a deep breath, but each inhale only heightened his awareness of the emptiness that burned in him, intensifying the need for someone's touch.
Desperate, he grabbed his phone and opened his contacts, scrolling through them with shaking fingers until he landed on a familiar name--Jisung.
His omega mate had been through his own heat only recently, taken care of and attended to by their alphas, safe and comforted. Felix's fingers trembled as he hesitated for a moment, a mixture of shame and overwhelming desperation washing over him. But the need gnawed at him, insistent and unrelenting, and before he could second-guess himself, he pressed the call button.
The phone rang, each second dragging torturously until he heard the familiar voice on the other end.
"Lix? Hey, you okay?" Jisung's voice was gentle, laced with a hint of concern, and Felix felt a rush of relief flood him, grounding him just enough.
"Jisung..." Felix's voice was barely a whisper, thick with need and vulnerability. "I... I need you h-here. It hurts s-so fuckin' much..." Felix cried into the phone.
There was a pause, a sharp intake of breath on the other end, and Felix could almost picture the way Jisung's brows would knit together, the way his soft eyes would fill with understanding and the way his cheeks would puff a bit when he pouted.
"I'll be there soon," Jisung promised, his voice steady and reassuring. "Just hold on for me, okay?"
Felix ended the call, clutching the phone to his chest as he stumbled back to his room, feeling a glimmer of hope pierce through the fog of pain and need. He sat on the edge of the bed, hands shaking as he gripped the sheets, waiting with bated breath until he heard the sound of the front door opening softly.
Jisung appeared in the doorway, his eyes gentle and warm as he took in the sight of Felix, curled in on himself, his expression etched with pain. He moved towards him slowly, a soft smile on his lips, and knelt down in front of him, reaching out to take Felix's hands in his own. The simple touch was enough to send a shiver through Felix, easing some of the ache and grounding him in a way he hadn't realized he needed.
"Felix..." Jisung's voice was soft as he squeezed his hands, his touch gentle yet firm. "I'm here."
The words were a balm, soothing the frayed edges of Felix's mind as he leaned forward, letting Jisung's touch wash over him. Jisung guided him back onto the bed, wrapping his arms around him in a comforting embrace, his fingers stroking through Felix's hair in slow, rhythmic motions. The warmth of Jisung's presence, his soft, steady breathing, began to calm Felix's racing heart.
Felix buried his face against Jisung's shoulder, inhaling his sweet vanilla scent, letting it soothe the sharp edge of his need. The ache didn't fade entirely, but it dulled, just enough for him to find a bit of relief. Jisung stayed with him, murmuring soft reassurances, his voice a gentle lull that helped Felix's mind quiet, if only for a little while.
They stayed like that for a long while, Jisung's steady presence grounding Felix as he clung to him, grateful for the comfort and understanding that only another omega could provide.
Jisung's hands traced gentle patterns on Felix's back, his touch calming the tumultuous storm inside him until, finally, Felix felt the tension in his body begin to ease, his breathing evening out as the desperate ache started to fade, leaving only a lingering warmth and an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
When Felix finally pulled back, he looked into Jisung's eyes, his own gaze softened with relief and gratitude. Jisung smiled at him, his hand reaching up to cup Felix's cheek, thumb brushing over his skin in a tender gesture.
Jisung leaned in and captured the younger's lips into a intense yet tender and loving kiss, understanding and full of love. And Felix felt that. When they pulled away, Jisung was the first to speak.
"Feeling better?" Jisung asked, his voice barely a whisper.
Felix nodded, a small, grateful smile curving his lips. "Thank you, Sungie. I... I don't know what I'd have done without you."
Jisung's smile widened, his hand lingering on Felix's cheek. "Anytime, baby. That's what we're here for, right?"
They sat in comfortable silence for a while longer, Felix resting his head on Jisung's shoulder, the steady rise and fall of his breathing a soothing presence that anchored him. Eventually, he felt the last wave of his heat begin to soften, the once-overpowering ache finally subsiding into a soft, manageable warmth now with his omega mate next to him.
As the two of them sat there, Jisung's arm around Felix's shoulders, Felix felt a sense of peace settle over him. He knew that, no matter how difficult things got, he would always have the support and love of his pack to rely on, even in the hardest of moments.
For now, that was enough.

I have an exam soon, I'm terrified.
