Chapter 11:

All of a sudden my cell phone rang.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hi hunny, how's everything going?" My mother asked happily.

"Would you excuse me for a sec?" I asked shooing him away.

He shrugged and got out of the car to wait outside of it.

"Everything's going great, we're finishing up our tacos. He tried to kiss me but I don't know if I should or not." I said nervously biting my thumbnail.

"You can kiss him if you want to." My mother said right before I heard my father yell "NO SHE CAN'T!"

I chuckled silently to myself.

"You can hunny, don't be scared it's wonderful to have your first kiss, well sometimes it's not, it depends if he's a good kisser." My mother said.

Then I sighed. Should I have kissed him? My mother didn't know how long I knew this guy, which wasn't very long.

I thought for a moment or two and thought of my decision. I wasn't going to kiss him.

It was just too soon.

"Your father's a good kisser." She added happily as I laughed.

"You don't have to tell me about that." I said chuckling.

"Well hunny, your fathers hungry so I got to go so I can make him something." My mother said sighing.

"Alright, talk to you when I get home?" I asked.

"Yeah, sweetie, I love you." My mother said sweetly.

"Love you too mom." I said right before my mother hung up.

I hung up too after a few seconds and just stared at my closed phone.

"Are you done talking? Can I get in my own car now?" Mason asked loudly tapping the window.

I nodded at him and he quickly opened the car door and sat down in his seat slamming the door immediately.

"Sorry about that." I said quickly before he could say anything.

"It's alright; I need to get you home, are you done with your food?" He asked looking down at the taco bell wrapper in my lap.

"Yeah." I said.

He put the keys in the ignition and pulled out of the parking spot and started to drive me home.

It was quiet for a moment or two and then I broke the silence.

"Thank you for dinner." I told him with a smile as he turned onto my street.

"Thank you for showing me directions to this place." He said smiling also as he stopped right in front of my house.

"No prob." I replied smiling.

"See you tomorrow morning?" I asked shyly biting my lip.

"You bet." He said smirking.

I smiled at him before stepping out of his car.

His car was running as I stood there with cool breeze blowing through my hair.

"Bye." I said waving at him.

"Later." He said before driving away.

I walked up the long pathway and up the steps, then finally to the front door.

My hand was just about to touch the door knob when the door sprung open causing me to gasp.

"Dad!" I said holding my pounding chest.

"What were you guys talking about?" He asked me crossing his arms.

"Stuff, dad. Please don't do that again, you scared me." I said exhaling sharply.

I stepped inside and saw my mother around the corner cooking stir fry in a skillet for dad.

"Hey mum." I said before my mother stopped stirring to look at me.

"Hey Nadine." My mother said with a smile.

"I want to ask you guys something." I said putting my hands behind my back and crossing my fingers.

I really believed that helped.

"Sure what is it hunny?" My mother said sounding interested.

"What?" My father asked sounding annoyed.

"So Ben and I were talking and he asked me what I want to be when I grow up, and I told him that I wanted to be a dancer. He told me that he had lessons since he was 5 and he suggested that he can teach me for free at his house. I was wondering if you guys would let me." I said quickly and gasping for air when I was done.

"Will his parents be there?" My father asked crossing his arms.

I froze on the spot, I didn't know what to say, there was no way they'd let me take dance lessons at Mason's house if his parents weren't there so...

"Yeah." I lied biting the inside of my cheek as hard as I could.

PLEASE? PLEASE? PLEASE? I thought over and over.

I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.

They had to say yes right? They should understand.

They love to dance.

I love to dance too but I'm just not that good.

"Well..." My father said pausing.

'Please' I mouthed.

"Ok."

My hand clamped over my mouth to muffle my screaming.

"You have to have your cellphone though." He said.

"I will!" I said nodding violently and bugging my eyes.

"I'm going to call constantly." My father said.

'Overprotective!' I thought.

"Ok dad." I said smiling.

"Thanks you guys." I said hugging both of them.

"I'm going up to room to watch tv. I'll probably stay in there for a while. Night." I told them before they smiled.

"Goodnight Nadine." They both said in sync.

I waved at them and then ran up the stairs and laid on my bed.

I couldn't wait until tomorrow.

My dream was finally going to come true, my parents never had money for dance lessons so this was really exciting.

Would I be really good?
