Chapter 28:

"So, do you even know where we are?" I asked.

"You were biking somewhere you didn't know?" Mason asked confused.

"I decided to take a different route instead of just around my neighborhood." I said sighing.

"Oh, well why didn't you stop when you saw the water?" He asked me.

"I couldn't! My brake broke." I said.

"You can't swim right?" He asked.

"No, I can't." I said looking at him like he was dumb.

"How did you find me?" I asked after a long silence.

"I heard someone screaming." He said.

"What do you mean you heard someone screaming?" I asked. "This is miles from your house obviously!" I added.

"I was, I was..."

"Were you following me?" I asked.

His eyes got wide and he inhaled sharply.

"No!" He shouted.

I gave him a stern look.

"Maybe... Yes.." He said.

"See Mason all you do is lie to me! You said you were sorry for lying what 2 minutes ago? Now you're lying again?" I screamed.

"I didn't want you to think I was stalking you because I wasn't!" He said.

"Then what were you doing Mason?" I said crossing my arms.

"I just wanted to see you Nadine." He said touching my leg.

I screamed and he pulled away immediately.

"Sorry!" He screamed pushing his face into his hands.

"Are you ok?" He asked scooting closer to me.

"Yeah." I growled.

I wasn't mad at him for touching my shin it just hurt so badly.

"I'm really sorry." He said looking truly sorry.

"It's alright." I mumbled about to cry.

"So you've never been here before?" Mason asked me.

I shook my head, because I was unable to talk.

"Are you sure you're ok?" He asked me again.

"Yeah you just made my leg feel like it was going to explode!" I choked out and he frowned.

"I said I was sorry." Mason said.

"I'm sorry Mason it's just I'm in a lot of pain right now, I know you didn't mean to hurt me, I shouldn't have acted like that." I said.

"Wait you followed me here right?" I asked him.

"Yeahhh." Mason said looking confused.

"We can take your car." I said hopeful.

"I rode my bike too. I didn't want to go to fast or you would've known I was following you." Mason said frowning.

"Oh my GOSH, Mason we are never going to get out of here. Why didn't you just take your car?!" I yelled angrily.

"It's not my fault." Mason said looking sad.

"I'm sorry, again. I'm just in pain." I said shaking my head.

"It's fine." Mason mumbled.

"No it's not, I shouldn't have done that and I feel really bad now you like saved my life and all I'm doing is getting mad at you." I said.
