Chapter 33:

I stepped out of the car and grabbed Mason's hand before we walked into the theatre together.

"2 tickets for Shutter Island please?" Mason asked the man behind the stand as he set the money in front of the guy.

"Here you go sir." He replied giving him the tickets.

"Thank you." I said before the guy winked and then turned the other way to the next customer.

"Pop corn?" Mason asked.

"Nah!" I said shrugging.

"Ok, I'm getting some for myself, because I want popcorn." He said.

I laughed. "Ok."

"Candy?" Mason asked.

"Sure." I said.

"What kind?"

"Skittles." I replied as he got those two things from the counter.

"Two Pepsis?" He asked looking at me.

I nodded and he handed me two cups filled with the yummy soda.

"Enjoy the movie!" The lady behind the counter said before we started walking down the dark hall.

"I can't see anything!" I whined before taking a drink of both of our sodas.

"Why are you doing that?" He asked confused.

"I'm thirsty!" I said.

"No, I mean why are you tickling the back of my neck, stop it!" He said.

"I'm in front of you Mason, I'm not tickling-"

"AHHHHHHHHH!" I was interrupted by Mason's scream.

"Mason!" I yelled.

Then I heard 2 people laughing.

A flashlight was turned on and was shining on a man's face.

Both of them were just cracking up.

I smiled and little and then wiped the sweat off my forehead.

"You got me!" I said laughing.

"Yeah, we did, we got you so good! HA-HA!" Mason said laughing.

Who was the other guy?

I couldn't tell, the only light in that dark, dark hall was the flashlight that mysterious guy turned on.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" I asked the guy.

"I'm Leighton, yeah I know, girly name but my dad's name was Hal, so I guess I get cursed with a girl's name too!" The guy said.

I smiled and extended my hand out for him to shake it.

"Nice to meet you." I said.

"Pleasure." Leighton said kissing my hand.

I laughed nervously and then looked over at Mason who had the flashlights light shining right on his face and the shadows and stuff made him look like a monster.

I gasped when I looked over and then I pulled my hand away from Leighton's grip.

"Uh, we have a movie to get to." I said crossing my arms.

"Yeah." Mason agreed. "Leighton's here to watch this movie too." Mason added in a groan.

"Oh." I said trying to sound cheery.

"Yep." Leighton said.

I smiled and nodded.

Mason's POV:

'She's hot' Leighton mouthed with the light shining right on his face.

"She's mine." I said in his ear.

Nadine was so beautiful and ambitious. She was wonderful, and magical, and I wanted to be the first guy to be with her, she would've been my second. No, it wouldn't be my first because my first time was when I was 17 with my high school cheerleader girlfriend, Elaine. That's the real reason why I was looking at that lawyer; my first time was with her.

I felt bad about lying to Nadine, but I couldn't let her think I was going to leave her for Elaine.

We had a kid together.

Our baby's name was Ruth.

We gave her up for adoption when she was 3 weeks old.

The last time I saw her she was 1.

She was adopted when she was 3.

Elaine and I fought a lot, and discussed how it was horrible of us as parents to give her away.

Elaine kicked me out and I lived with my Uncle Devon for a while.

Inside, I think she blamed me, for thinking up the horrible idea to give Ruth away.

I just knew we wouldn't make good parents, Elaine and I still had another year of school, when Ruth was first born.

We were both working, and we had so much to do we wouldn't have been able to take care of a baby.

"How'd you guys meet?" Leighton asked smiling deviously snapping me out of my thoughts.

"At the hospital" I said stopping him.

"What?" Leighton asked chuckling. "Why were you guys at the hospital?" He added.

"I was there for x ray results and so was Nadine." I replied.

"What? That's weird!" Leighton said. "What's wrong with her? Why are you dating someone with something wrong with them?" Leighton added.

"You're such a moron; that's none of your business!" I said punching him in the arm.

'Did Nadine see that?' I thought looking at her.

Nadine looked back shaking her head at us.

Was she mad? Why?

I told Leighton that was none of his business and then she shakes her head at me.

WOMEN!! I thought as we sat down in our seats.

Sometimes she's just so confusing.
