(A/N I realized I had lost count and just kept calling Nicolas and Valeria "the Babies" but I'm pretty sure they'd be like 3 right now)
Arizona is back from Africa which was a whole thing I won't get into but now Callie is really mad and sleeping with mark as therapy but now that Arizona is here she's just mad. Also she tried moving back in this morning but Callie shot that down pretty fast. Yay!
I honestly missed Arizona because the substitute for peds was gross but not if it's going to make Callie like this.
Oh and on top of all of that, we have new interns for the day and mine is whiny.

"Kim Peterson you're with dr Torres"
Oh yay
"I'll be picking chief resident soon" the chief announces
"The race for chief resident is on?" Mer asks
"Since when?" I say
"How long have you been evaluating us" April asks
"Since the moment you arrived" the chief responds
Callie didn't really set me up for success with the whole chief resident thing but hey at least I know what not to do!
"Alright let's go Peterson"

"Okay I'll start us off. My favorite color is navy blue, my favorite animal is a lion, and my favorite fruit is a blueberry. Go"
"What?"

"Why is this important"

"Okay, welcome to the NICU. This is where I spend lots of time"
"Sick babies are your thing?"
"Saving babies. And I like peds which is 0-18 and what are babies? 0."
"Oh"
"Ok, who do we have today?"
"Riley Brown"
"Helpful. Theres 4 Babies with the last name brown and two others named Riley. Oh and, this room is huge. So, read me the chart and bring me to the bed"
"Riley Brown, 5 days old. Currently on the list for a new kidney"
"Good enough, thank you Dr Peterson. Can you tell me what room we're in?"
"The NICU."
"Really? Because it sounds like we're on geriatrics with the way you're speaking. Give me a minute"
"What?"

"Dr Robbins! This is my med student Kim Peterson. Tell her your favorite color" I say to Arizona
"Hi Kim! I'm dr Arizona Robbins chief of pediatrics. And my favorite color is pink!"
"See the way she speaks? That's how you talk in peds because even though the 5 day old babies can't hear you the parents can." I say
"Dr Torres can I talk to you real quick?"
"Yes, Peterson watch her monitor please"
