I got home to Arizona screaming and immediately called Callie

"Elena what's up"

"Where are you?"

"On my way home. What's wrong?"

"Arizona, she- she needs you. And she's going to fight you but she needs you. I tried helping but she won't even let me in the same room. Just get home quickly"

"I'll be home in 5"

"How are you?" I ask Callie

"I don't know. I want to say okay but I don't know"

"That's okay"

The night goes on and I wake up to Callie banging on my door.

"Yeah?"

"Elena your rooms a mess"

"I've noticed"

"You have to clean this. The kids have a cleaner room than you."

"Callie, I can barely walk without collapsing. I don't have time to bend over and put away laundry or do the dishes."

"Right. Let's go"

"Go where?"

"To the hospital. I'm bringing Arizona anyway so you're coming too."

"Fine"

"Hey, Alex. How's Barnett?"

"I want Robbins back."

"Yeah me too."

"How're you doing?"

"Better actually, I can walk for more than five minutes now"

"Up top" Alex says high-fiving me

Arizona is getting fitted for a prosthetic today and I offered to be there for the appointment. She agreed because I've done this before but only if I get out as soon as she says to.

"So, this is your..."

"Sister in-law" Arizona says

"Always good to have people here"

"Her son has a prothetic leg, figured she'd know what to do"

"Ah, I see."

"Actually Torres, if you could step out."

"Yeah of course, let me know if you need anything" I say walking out

I get a text a little while later

"Can you come back?" Arizona messages

"Be there soon"

I walk in to see her standing in a prosthetic. I smile and see the tears in her eyes.

"Everything okay?"

"Everything's good. It's good"

"Good" I smile

"You can tell Nick that he'll have a robot friend pretty soon." Arizona laughs

She hasn't laughed since the crash

"He'll be so excited" I say

We have a money person here to help us with the hospital because we sued. Oops! She's installed cameras in the ceiling, and it's very scary. They're also closing the ER which makes no sense as we're a level 1 trauma center.

There's a teenager here who's recovering from a double hip replacement. She's very scary. She's 13 and very scary.

Arizona, Alex, and I have all tried getting her to stand up but no luck. Because she's scary.

"Hey kid" I say motioning for her to take out her headphones

"What do you want"

"I want you to be up and walking. However, you and I both know that won't happen so let's just stand for now."

"You don't understand. I was the best at gymnastics, and not everyone is the best at something."

"Well right Now You're not being the best patient. So please, I'll hold you for gods sake. Just put your feet on the ground."

"No" she yells at me

"Okay. We'll try this later"

I catch up with Christina in the hallway

"I have a Jehovah's Witness who needs a blood transplant" she says

"I have a scary 13 year old"

"You win" She says walking away

"Torres? You couldn't get her walking?" Arizona asks

"I couldn't get her standing."

"What The hell"

"She's scary" I Mutter

"I'm with Elena on that" Alex says

"You all are insane" Callie says

Callie and Arizona are in some sort of fight over tights? Which I'm guessing is code for something but I have no idea what.

"You go in!" I Tell Callie

"Oh my god" Callie rolls her eyes and walks in

"Oh my god" she says again walking out

"Told ya" Alex says

A few hours later I walk back in her room

"Hello again"

"Again?"

"Yes ma'am"

"It's not going to work- what are you doing?"

"I, am going to sit here, and chart. And when you're ready, you can say my name and I'll help you get up."

"You're ridiculous"

"Yes I am" I say crossing my legs on the foot rest

"Elena's still in there?" Arizona asks

"Hasn't moved" Alex responds

"I'm going in." Arizona decides

"Wanna say a prayer first?" Callie asks

"Hey, you need to get up now. You need to take a few steps and remember how it feels. And I know how hard this is but you want this. You do." Arizona says

"You don't know what I want" Simmi replies

"No? Ok." Arizona says rolling up her pant leg and telling simmi about her loss

"Wow. They send a cripple in to teach me how to live my life"

"You did not want to go there" I tell simmi while walking out

"You know what? You can be scared and you can be pissed and you can lie here like a garden slug till you die for all I care. But you will not become a monster that takes everyone else down with them. You will treat people with kindness and respect. And you will start with yourself. And you will start by standing up. And you will do so by the time I count to three, or I will drag your ass out of this bed. So, one. two. Three." Arizona demands which actually gets her out of bed

Alex, Callie, and I run in to help her with the Walker and to cheer her on.

"You got it!" I say

"Wow!"

"Good job!"

"Look at that!"
