If you told him a year ago that things would happen, he wouldn't believe you.

After a hectic last few days of university even before graduating and forcing himself to get away from Taesan he was now here, outside their company with Riwoo, waiting for Taesan to arrive.

A lot had happened and he could say that he won't ever forget them. Ever since that day when Taesan sneaked inside his kitchen, preparing his breakfast and preparing food for him, he never left his side.

Leehan didn't give it easily to Taesan though. He put a major boundary between them but Taesan worked hard to earn his trust again.

Now, they're closer than ever but Leehan still hasn't confessed yet. He's scared to lose his friendship or turn awkward with each other. As long as Taesan's besides him, it's alright for him.

Leehan tried to distract himself by trying to date other people but nothing lasted long, Taesan knew of course. He's the one who gives Leehan advice and even helps him to get ready.

Sometimes, Leehan pretends to ask advice when he's just trying to know Taesan's preferences and note it down for future needs. His last relationship was half a year ago which lasted only 3 days, yes, 3 days.

After that, nothing followed. He realized he's just making a fool of himself and decided to just wait for the right time to confess to his best friend, Han Dongmin.

"I wonder what's taking him so long." Leehan said, looking at a distance.

"Maybe the traffic is bad? And you might want to answer your phone, it's been ringing for a while now." Riwoo replied.

Leehan reached his phone inside his bag and saw missed calls from Taesan.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I tried but you're so deep in thoughts." Riwoo replied. Leehan sighed and answered the call.

"Hello?" Leehan said. "Min! Where are you? Took you so long!" Leehan asked on the other line.

"What took you so long to answer my calls?" Taesan asked on the other line, disregarding his question

Leehan just laughed. He couldn't say that he accidentally didn't answer so instead, he explained how they were avoiding someone earlier. Taesan, on the other hand, asked about Leehan's ex.

"Oh, you probably told them hyung, huh? Such a snitch!" Leehan accused Riwoo.

"Forget the call, I'm here." Taesan says. Leehan looked at his right before gasping and laughing.

"Looking good, Dongmin. Even your car!"

"Your best friend is different," Riwoo teased, examining Taesan's new car. They laughed, and Leehan was about to tease Taesan again when he noticed something different.

"Is that a new jacket? I just noticed."

"This is Sungho hyung's. My clothes got coffee spilled on them earlier, so I borrowed this," Taesan replied nonchalantly.

"Hey, I won't be joining you guys wherever you're going. Taesan, thanks again. My condo building is on the way, so drop me off there, okay?" Riwoo said after settling into the backseat.

Taesan nodded before asking, "Did you really see Leehan's ex?"

"Not just saw, he wanted to talk to Donghyun, maybe make a scene!" Riwoo immediately reported, not caring about the glare from Leehan.

"You're such a snitch when it comes to him!" Leehan complained.

"Why?! It's true!" Riwoo said, not bothered. Taesan raised an eyebrow at Leehan.

"Why don't you want me to know?" Taesan asked.

Leehan looked at him, hearing the bribes and complaints from Riwoo. "Huh?"

Taesan cut Leehan's complaint and told him, "He cheated on you."

Leehan pursed his lips and slowly nodded. "I know. I just want to act like he was never a part of my life, so I pulled Sanghyeok out when I saw him earlier."

Taesan nodded.

That's how Leehan deals with his ex-lovers: forgiving and forgetting.

It wasn't Taesan anyways so why bother? He was a fool for thinking that he could distract himself by dating others but as he did, he just made himself sure that the one he truly loved was Taesan.

Leehan doesn't understand why he can't confess too. It's just three words but why is it so hard? Besides, it's worth the shot.. right?

But what if Taesan doesn't feel the same? At the end of the day, no matter how hard he tries, Taesan only sees him as a best friend.

As Taesan drove through the city, the atmosphere inside the car became contemplative. The faint city lights illuminated the somber expressions on Leehan's face. The tension was palpable, and Taesan decided to break the silence.

"Leehan, you know you deserve so much better, right?" Taesan's eyes briefly met Leehan's in the rearview mirror.

Leehan sighed, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery. "Yeah, I know. But sometimes, it's just easier to let go and move on."

Taesan offered a supportive smile.

He knew he deserved better, that's why he ran away from his ex when he wanted to contact him. That's why he blocked all of them and cut ties. Leehan knew he deserved better and they didn't deserve him.

As they reached Riwoo's condo building, the trio bid their goodbyes. Leehan decided to stay in Sanghyeok's condo for the night as they finish their project.

After walking a couple of steps, Leehan turned back and watch Taesan's car as he drives away, a pang of longing in his chest. He wished he could be more than just a best friend - the one who truly take care Taesan's heart.
