3rd Person POV

“Mom?”

Leehan peaked inside the room where his mother was reading a book in the chair near the big window.

It was quiet and the only sound came from the crackling fire in the fireplace. The walls were painted ivory that beautifully adorned the almond brown furniture.

Mrs. Kim looked up to him and gave a warm smile.

“You look charming as always, Donghyun. Are you going to Teum Alague?” She said, putting the book down on the table near her.

Teume Alague is a big event that only high class and powerful people attends. Unless you get an invite from one of the important people. It happens once a year to celebrate new CEOs or announce something. But mostly, it's just an excuse for them to gossip and make deals. Those rich people stuff.

Leehan walked towards his mother, “I am going with them this year. It's just right for me as the CEO.”

“I’m surprised that your older sister is going too.”

“Aehyun said she needs to see a new environment. Apparently, she's having an artist's block or whatever that is.” Leehan said as he stood in front of his mother before giving her a hug.

“Do I look alright, mom?”

“Alright?” His mother questioned before shaking her head. “You look dashing and handsome, Donghyun. My little fish has all grown up now.”

“Mom, you need to stop calling me that.” Leehan replied while his mother stood up and fixed his suit, brushing some invisible dirt.

“Why? Do you prefer I call you whale?”

“Mom” Leehan groaned, making his mother laugh.

“Say hi for Mr.& Mrs. Han for me, will you? And tell Taesan that I enjoyed the food he gifted me.” She said, walking towards the fireplace to add wood after adoring her son.

“Why not go with us instead, mom? Wouldn't that be much better?”

Mrs. Kim turned to him, “I don't do well in crowds. Besides, I doubt that your father will last thirty minutes there. You don't know how happy he was when he made you the CEO.”

“Is being a CEO that bad?” Leehan asked.

“Well..” she started, pushing the wood further to the fire using a stick, “Nothing's easy in this world. Your father just doesn't like pointless meetings, he believes that it'll go nowhere.”

Leehan shrugged, agreeing. “I'll give him that.”

Mrs. Kim walked back to him. “You'll do well leading our company.”

“Mom, you always say that.”

“I know. Because you will and you are capable of doing so.” His mother said, looking in his eyes before softly patting his cheeks.

“Now, go along. You don't want them to be waiting, right? Especially Dongmin, he might be dying to see you in there.” She added as she sat back down on the chair, reaching for the book she's reading earlier.

“Speaking of Dongmin—”

“Both of you make a powerful couple. Great choice of partner by the way.” Mrs. Kim said, not looking at him and started reading again instead.

Leehan stared at her before smiling and slightly bowing. “I'll go now, mom. See you later.”

“Enjoy the night, my dear.” He heard her say before Leehan walked out of the room to meet with his father and older sister down the living room.

Their mansion is quite big and needs some hands to maintain its cleanliness. His older sister, Kim Aeyun, is a known painter. They were close since young and she knows how he hides his feelings for Taesan. She was his role model and he often looks up to her.

“What took you so long in there, Donghyun?” Aeyun asked, crossed arms as she stood beside their father.

She was wearing an emerald green dress, not too tight but also not too wide, just perfect. It is designed with her own art, Leehan guessed. It's nothing new since she loved customizing her things, even their mansion.

“You know mom, she loves to have a chitchat moment.” Leehan replied, thanking one of their butlers as he opened the main door for them.

“Did she not change her mind, Donghyun?”

“No, dad. She also said that you won't last thirty minutes there.” Leehan said as they walk to their limousine.

As they settled inside, Leehan took out his phone to message Taesan, only to see messages from him.

He mentally cursed himself for forgetting to reply to Taesan's message earlier. He thought he already did.

“Let me guess, it's Taesan.” Aeyun said, not looking at me as Leehan nodded. Who else would make him smile just by text? None other than Han Dongmin, Taesan.

She glanced at his brother twice and by that Leehan knew it must've been about his ring.

Even before his sister could ask, the driver announced that they have arrived. It wasn't that far from their house and the driver drives quite faster than usual an there's no much traffic too.

After taking some pictures to the paparazzis and avoiding eye contact with his sister, Leehan slipped in the giant hall and quickly look for Taesan.

This sure is a huge hall. The people seemed endless and Leehan thought only few are invited. But, it is evident that these people have high-profile just by the way they talk.

To what seemed like an eternity, Leehan finally saw him but even before he can reach him, Leehan saw Taesan with a girl. They are oddly and uncomfortably close with each other as Taesan whispered something to her and she smiled sweetly.

Are they flirting? Who is she? Are they close?

Taesan just promised yesterday, oh, gave Leehan a promise ring that is technically like a promise. So, why is he now flirting?

Is it just all an act? Is it fake? Who's this girl?

Leehan gulped and fixed his tie before walking towards them.
