Leehan didn't know what to do after opening the passenger door and seeing the woman there. They were both surprised and didn't know what to do until the woman spoke."Hi! Sorry, is this where you're supposed to sit? Wait, I'll just move to the back-"
"No, no, no!" Leehan stopped the woman and smiled. "I'll just sit in the back!"
"Huh? But-" He didn't wait for her anymore and politely closed the door. He moved to the back and immediately found the woman who was now reaching out to him.
"I'm Jessa, by the way! You're Kim Donghyun, right? I overheard the other employees talking about you!"
"That's right," Leehan said, shaking her hand.
If he had any intrusive thoughts, he might have squeezed the woman's hand until her bones cracked. But of course, that's just a joke. We're not violent here.
"Oh, Leehan, why are you there?" Taesan interrupted their small talk when he finally arrived and started the engine. Leehan explained what happened and Taesan nodded hesitantly.
"So, how's Jessa?" Leehan asked Taesan who started to drive.
"She met the requirements." He replied before glancing at Jessa, "Leehan helped me choose you, in case you wonder why you got hired here. He told me you had skills and then I only found out that I knew you when I saw your resume."
Oh, so they knew each other...
"Really?!" Jessa exclaimed then happily faced Leehan. "Thank you, Donghyun! If it wasn't because of you, I might still be jobless now!"
"It's nothing," Leehan laughed shyly. "You deserve to get it."
And then Taesan and Jessa's conversation went on and on as the ride continued. Leehan did nothing but stare out the window and ponder.
Leehan isn't that possessive with Taesan and he knows that this is just probably about their work, nothing more. And, it's alright to have friends outside their friend group.
But..
Why does he feel like he's the third wheel in his relationship? Why is Jessa even here with them in the first place? Did Jessa not know that he and Taesan are in a relationship?
This is so odd that Taesan never said a thing but everything he does is for a reason so Leehan decided to not ask and let him say it himself.
Everything became worse when they were stuck in traffic. Even if he didn't want to, he could hear everything the two in front of him were talking about.
They had already spent the whole day together in the office, and they still weren't done talking now?! He couldn't help but frown and that's when he met Taesan's eyes in the rearview mirror.
"Are you okay, Hannie?" Taesan asked.
IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION?! OF COURSE NOT! Leehan wanted to scream but he smiled instead.
"Min, I remembered I have something to buy at the mall. Is it okay if you drop me off here on the side?"
They both turned to look at him.
"For what? The office? You can buy it tomorrow-"
"No, it's for my sister. She asked me to buy art supplies," he casually adjusted his belongings so Taesan would have no choice but to park the car on the side and let Leehan out.
"We can wait for you here. Or I'll go with you-"
"It's alright, Min!" He said with a smile but there was an underlying annoyance. "It's really okay. I have a lot to buy and I'll also do some grocery shopping for myself."
"Another reason for us to wait for you. You'll have a lot to carry," Taesan insisted while Jessa was just watching them semi-argue.
"You're so persistent," Leehan laughed without any humor in it. "It's really okay. Look, Min, if you let me go now, you and Ma'am Jessa could have already left, right?"
Taesan creased his forehead when he noticed the hint of annoyance and sarcasm in Leehan's voice. He was about to explain why Jessa is here but Leehan feigned to open the door even though it was still locked.
"Dongmin, it's locked," he stated the obvious. Taesan stared at him so Leehan could clearly see how his eyebrows furrowed as he continued to try and open the door.
Taesan knew this is not the right time to argue with Leehan since he's using his birth name and not the one he usually uses. Even though he badly wanted to explain, he knew that Leehan won't listen right now.
Jessa sat there awkwardly, not knowing what to do. She thought it would be better to keep her mouth shut while watching the two verbally and non-verbally argue.
"Dongmin," Leehan's voice was now firmer. He looked back at Taesan who stared at him for a moment before deciding to give in. He unlocked the door and turned his head around again.
"Are you sure you'll be okay here?"
"Yes," he nodded as he walked out of the car. He bent down to look at them before smiling, although Taesan knew how fake it was.
"I'll go ahead. Thank you, Dongmin," his smile looked like he was just pursing his lips as it formed a straight line. "Jessa, nice meeting you!"
He waited for Jessa's goodbye and closed the door. He didn't bother to wait for his boyfriend to speak because he knew he would just ask again if he was okay being dropped off there.
When he returned home, he only then noticed the message from Taesan. He rolled his eyes like Taesan could see him.

Yes. I was just in a hurry earlier. Thank you for the ride again! Good night :)_______________________________
Then he turned off his phone, went to shower, and headed straight to bed.
Tomorrow, hopefully his day will be better.
He was supposed to surprise Taesan but guess who got surprised instead.
