Leehan POV
"Taesan! Taesan!"
He stopped just a few inches in front of me before turning around, his face a mask of hurt.
"I do not wish to talk to you now, Leehan. Especially after what you said."
My heart sank. "I'm sorry. I was just mad and I concluded things out-"
"But why would you conclude such thing? Did I ever cheat on you? If so, when? So I can tell myself that it's my fault." His voice trembled, and his eyes, usually sparkling, were now filled with unshed tears.
"It wasn't your fault, Min. I- I just..." I trailed off, unable to meet his gaze. It wasn't like I was accusing him, was it? I was just scared, terrified of losing him to his countless admirers. I knew I was easily replaceable, easily forgotten.
"Did I ever cheat on you?" He repeated, his voice low and strained.
"No..." I whispered, looking down at the floor.
"Then why?" He asked, the pain in his voice palpable.
I remained silent, searching for the right words, the right explanation. How could I explain the suffocating fear that had consumed me?
Before I could speak, he turned away, his shoulders slumped. "Talk to me when you're ready." A single tear escaped his eye and rolled down his cheek before he walked away, leaving me standing there, paralyzed by regret.
"Wait, Taesan!" I called out, but he didn't stop.
Third Person POV
Taesan walked away, his heart heavy with hurt and confusion. He couldn't understand why Leehan would accuse him of something he hadn't done. They'd been together for years, and he had always been loyal, always cherished their relationship. He couldn't fathom why Leehan would suddenly doubt him.He remembered the countless times he'd turned down advances from admirers, always choosing to stay with Leehan. He remembered the late-night conversations, the shared dreams, the unwavering support they offered each other. He had always believed their love was strong, unbreakable.
Now, that trust, that foundation, felt shattered. He needed space, time to process the hurt, to understand why Leehan had lashed out at him.
He found Yuri at the balcony, leaning against the railings, nursing a drink.
"I think you should go talk to him," she suggested, taking a sip.
"Let him be," Taesan replied, his voice weary. "I just can't face him for now."
"You'll face him sooner anyways, you can't run from your problems it'll make them worse."
He hummed in response but was caught of guard when Yuri snatched his drink and threw the alcohol out. She hopes no one is under the balcony.
"This," Yuri pointed at the glass, "You need to stop drinking."
"I'm not drunk. I think you're the one who needs to stop." He replied
"You were never lucky in love," Yuri sighed.
"Are there truly lucky people? Or is it just because they have a choice and they chose to understand each other?" Taesan countered, leaning against the railing beside her.
"Don't ask me shit, the alcohol's kicking in and you're making my head ache even more." Yuri rolled her eyes.
"That's my problem where?" Taesan chuckled.
Yuri threw him a playful middle finger. "I came here to help, but I'm the one who got hurt instead." She huffed, "I'm going to get another one. Want some?"
Taesan shook his head. "Someone needs to watch you because I don't want this to be more messy than it is."
Yuri waved him off and headed back inside. Taesan remained on the balcony, staring out at the night sky, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions.
Suddenly, a familiar voice cut through the silence.
"Taesan, right?"
He turned to see a woman approaching, a concerned expression on her face. He recognized her - she was a fellow heir of a company that he accidentally forgot, someone he'd worked with on a few projects.
"Yes?" he replied, cautious.
"I saw Donghyun earlier," she began, her voice hesitant. "He was... with someone else. They seemed quite... intimate."
Taesan's blood ran cold. "What do you mean?"
The woman hesitated, unsure how to proceed. "I don't want to interfere, but I thought you should know."
Taesan felt a surge of anger, a cold fury that threatened to consume him. Leehan, with someone else? After everything?
He looked at the woman, his eyes narrowed. "Thank you," he said, his voice low and dangerous.
The woman, startled by the intensity in his gaze, quickly excused herself and hurried away.
Taesan remained on the balcony, the woman's words echoing in his mind. Leehan, with someone else. The pain he felt was a different kind now, a raw, burning anger that replaced the hurt and confusion.
He remained rooted to the spot, the woman's words echoing in his mind like a haunting melody. Leehan, with someone else. The blood drained from his face, leaving him feeling cold and hollow.
He replayed the scene in his mind, the woman's hesitant tone, the mention of "intimacy." The image of Leehan, his beloved Leehan, with another, filled him with a rage he hadn't known he possessed.
How could he? he thought, his voice a mere whisper. After everything we've been through? After all the promises, all the years we spent building this life together?
He remembered Leehan's words, his accusations, his hurt. Did I ever cheat on you? Taesan had been so focused on his own pain, on trying to understand Leehan's sudden doubts, that he hadn't considered the possibility that Leehan himself might have been the one straying.
The realization hit him like a physical blow. The hurt he felt earlier, the confusion, now morphed into a bitter, angry disbelief. He felt betrayed, deceived, and utterly heartbroken.
All this time, he was the one lying, Taesan thought, his voice trembling with a mixture of anger and despair. He was the one playing games.
He looked at the city lights shimmering below, a kaleidoscope of colors that seemed to mock his shattered world. The night air, once a source of solace, now felt suffocating, heavy with the weight of his betrayal.
He had always been loyal to Leehan, unwavering in his love and commitment. He had never imagined that his own partner could be capable of such deceit.
How could he do this to me? he repeated, the question hanging heavy in the air. How could he break my heart like this?
He clenched his fists, the knuckles turning white. He needed to see Leehan, to confront him, to demand answers. But as he turned to go, a wave of dizziness washed over him. He swayed, his vision blurring, and sank back against the railing, his head spinning.
The betrayal, the anger, the hurt - it was all too much. He felt like he was drowning, gasping for air in a sea of despair.
This can't be happening, he whispered, his voice barely audible. This can't be real.
But the cold, hard truth stared him in the face. His world had shattered, and he didn't know how to pick up the pieces.
After all, years ago, Leehan would jump to one person to another. What if Taesan is one of those too?
