Lingling Kwong hated distractions.

Being the eldest daughter, she had to be on top of everything since she was young, more so when their mother passed away. She had to plan out carefully not just for her but for her younger sisters as well since their father needed to work, hence her habit of listing down even the smallest details. Even at work, she would ask Nene of the list of all her meetings every week to plot them on her own calendar. And if something didn't go as planned or out of schedule, it would easily throw her off.

After the engagement with Orm was finalized, Lingling had to stay up late to squeeze in the wedding preparations with her hectic schedule. The wedding was scheduled in about 5 weeks. They agreed that the ceremony would be intimate with only their families, relatives and close friends present.

The end-of-the-quarter conference would happen in three weeks, and Lingling has been under a lot of stress because of it. After spending hours going through her schedule, she finally found a day to spare.

It was today.

Few hours after lunchtime, Orm pulled the huge oak door of Eclair's apartment to see Lingling’s car parked right outside. It was late at night that she received a message from her saying they have to meet the organizers of their wedding. She texted her the address of the café, so she assumed they would meet there, but here she was anyway.

With a smile, Orm approached the car. “P'Lingling, sawasdee kha!” She mouthed, bending down to peek through the semi-tinted window of Lingling's red Porsche Carrera.

Lingling pushed the door lightly from the inside to let Orm in.

“Thank you for picking me up, P'Ling.” Orm settled on the passenger seat, sporting her usual bright smile.

“Seatbelt.”

“Ah.” Orm grabbed the seatbelt and fixed it around herself.

“I don't want to wait in case you're late.” Lingling said, both hands on the steering wheel.

“That was one time!” Orm pouted, glancing at Lingling, who raised her brow at her. “Okay. Twice. Geez.” Today, she noted that the older girl was wearing a cream-colored pants-blazer-low-cut top combination with sleeves rolled up halfway to her elbows as if she was trying to attract women. Meanwhile, she was only wearing a simple floral dress.

“By the way, N'Orm—”

"Hmm?!" Orm beamed at that, humming. Having Sirilak Kwong call her by her nickname was an accomplishment. It was the first time after days that she heard her call her name.

“—this is our itinerary for the rest of the day. Please go through it, and tell me if you have another agenda, so I can fix it.”

Orm scanned the 1-page document on the iPad Lingling handed to her. She was expecting a random list but this one was very detailed, even the estimated traveling time was included. “Uh…this is good, P'Ling. I don't have anything to do today.”

“Okay.” Lingling nodded.

When Orm handed back the iPad to Lingling, the latter carefully placed it inside the compartment. The former noted that everything was kept tidy. As they were driving, she couldn't help but notice Lingling's eye bags were a bit puffy today. She probably was juggling her schedule between the upcoming end-of-the-quarter conference and their wedding, especially since it has been moved earlier to two weeks from now. “Have you eaten, P'Ling?”

“Huh?” Lingling glanced towards Orm for a moment, frowning a little. “Why? Are you hungry?”

Lingling's logic made Orm chuckle, but her reaction somehow confused Lingling as well. “I was asking if you had lunch already. I know you probably had to squeeze in preparations for our wedding to your schedule, so I hope you're not neglecting yourself.”
