Several days passed and the couple were already about to hit the one month mark of marriage. It was Monday then, the 6th of May, and Lingling was scrolling through a travel guide website to choose where to bring Orm to celebrate this milestone. It wasn't hard for her to plan things out, but she found it hard this time to pick one this time.
‘This one?’ Frowning, Lingling swiped the images of the restaurant she saw on the website, but felt that it wasn't perfect. As she was juggling her choices, her attention was caught by a knock on the door.
“Khun Lingling, it's time for the product proposal.”
Lingling glanced over her watch and realized that she has been fixating on choosing a restaurant for almost thirty minutes already. She nodded then stood up.
As they were going down to the smaller conference room on the 7th floor, Nene couldn't help but notice the frown on her boss's face. She had not seen such expression on her in a while. The past month, the young CEO has been smiling a bit more especially when she was with her wife. She loved seeing her boss in a good mood, more so whenever she would invite Orm up for lunch, she would also have her own set from expensive restaurants. ‘Could they have argued about something?’ She asked herself.
“Khun Nene?”
“Yes, Khun Lingling? Do you need anything?”
Lingling felt a little embarrassed to ask, but she told herself she had to. It was a necessity, she thought. “Hypothetically…” She started quite unsure, but her secretary was all ears. “...supposed Jaja asked you for a date, where would you want her to take you?”
Nene blinked a couple of times at Lingling’s directness. ‘Is Khun Lingling asking me for advice on where to take Khun Orm?’ That realization dawned on her after a second, and it left her in awe. ‘Wow. Khun Lingling is asking me for advice on their date! OMG!’ She smiled and nodded. “Hypothetically, Khun Lingling, if Jaja were to take me on our first date…” She started, emphasizing the ‘first’, assuming it would be Lingling and Orm's first date. "...I would like to have a pleasant dinner with her at a nice restaurant maybe.”
“Yes, but what kind of restaurant?” Lingling immediately answered, and just realized that she did after a while. “Hypothetically, I mean.”
At this point, Nene felt giddy that her boss seemed to worry about this date with her wife so much. “Since we like each other so much, the place wouldn't matter…”
That didn't help, Lingling thought.
“...I'll go wherever Jaja takes me.”
Lingling nodded. “I see. You'll let her choose whatever.”
“Yes. As long as she's happy, then I'm happy.”
‘Would Orm think the same?’ Lingling asked herself. “I guess you have a point.”
They both looked ahead. Nene happily stood behind her blss, glad to have rendered her service to their flourishing love story.
Upon reaching the floor, they went straight to the conference room. As soon as they entered, everyone stood up and greeted them.
Lingling immediately spotted Orm on the opposite side of the table and saw her smiling, so she gave her a nod and soft smile. She thought she looked good with her hair tied up. Her gaze then fell on the gold floral bracelet she gifted her. Seeing the jewelry piece worn by her wife everyday would always make her smile. And so when she sat down on the seat at the end of the table with the COO of Noiam Foods on her left and her secretary on her right, she looked down on her iPad, pretending to focus on her copy of their presentation to hide the subtle smile on her lips.
