[A/N: Long chapter ahead. Sorry! ✌🏻]

The next morning, the couple survived breakfast without anyone suspecting what they did the night before. The meal was pleasant to say the least. This time, Ton seemed to have tried to interact more with Lingling which the couple appreciated a lot. Afterwards, Lingling took a bath. She used the shirt her wife prepared for her this time, although it seemed a bit bigger on her. Currently, Lingling was sitting on a chair near Orm's grandmother as she was reading reports from the office while her wife was taking a bath. On her lap was Uni who seemed to be at ease with her already.

Lingling stopped for a while to watch Anong breath as she was sleeping. Her health has declined greatly compared to when she attended their wedding. She was too weak to stand. That was why she needed to sit on a wheelchair if she needed to go outside. Last night, she was just watching as they played charades. But even in her condition, she would always smile. It felt as if she wasn't afraid of dying. Although they hadn't interacted much, she was frightened by the possibility of her not waking up one day. However, on one side, it was comforting to think that at least they would be able to say goodbye.

When Lingling’s mother passed away, they were all in shock. It was supposed to be a happy day. They were supposed to welcome a new addition to the family and they did, but at the expense of their mother's life. She never blamed Milk. She would never do that. She just couldn't bear the fact that it was all too sudden. She didn't even get to say goodbye to her mom. She didn't even get to hug her one last time. Perhaps until now, there was still a lingering feeling of bitterness in her heart.

“Lingling Kwong…”

Lingling's train of thought was broken when she felt soft hands touch her shoulders. She looked up and saw her wife. “Hey.” She smiled.

“What are you thinking about, Bubu?”

Lingling shook her head. In her peripheral vision, she saw Orm had her laptop out on the dining table. “Are you going to work?”

Orm nodded. “My report has been on hold since last week. I have to at least make some progress.”

“You don't have to.” Lingling replied, now holding her wife's hand.

The younger one only chuckled. “I have to. I can't slack off. It's bad for my boss-wife's image.” She said a bit teasingly before pressing a kiss onto her wife's head. “I will just be at the table.”

It seemed that Lingling would change her wife's mind, so she ended up nodding, “Okay.”

Meanwhile outside, Ton was helping load some crops into his pick-up truck that he would be delivering to the market. While doing so, he recalled what he witnessed during breakfast. His wife may be right. It seemed like their daughter already found the right person for her.

“How is your stay here in Buriram so far, Lingling?” Ton asked. He was still a little hesitant to address Lingling by her name without honorifics like they used to.

“It has been great uncle. Thank you.” Lingling answered with a smile while pouring herself a glass of orange juice.

Ton nodded. He couldn't think of anything to talk about with their daughter-in-law except business. He silently but subtly observed the young couple. That time, Orm was also making coffee. But to his surprise, the two of them switched glasses without saying a word.

“I hope you like tiger prawn, Lingling.” Koy spoke this time while pushing the plate towards Lingling.

Ton saw that Lingling was about to open her mouth but Orm answered for her instead. “She does, mom.” The latter said and the former only smiled. Afterwards, he thought Lingling was getting rice for herself, but instead, she put some on Orm's plate first before putting a scoop on hers. All while their daughter was peeling shrimp which she served on her wife's plate.
