Orm's first day as Lingling Kwong's wife felt like a fever dream because the next morning, she had to face the reality that she's now the Vice Chairwoman's wife.

Today, a new driver picked them up. Orm wanted to ask to be dropped off at the basement parking, but she was too shy to do so. Lingling was also busy reading documents on her iPad, probably trying to catch up with work since she barely did the day before. And so, when they arrived in front of the lobby at Noiam, she took a deep breath and quietly exhaled through her lips.

Lingling went out first followed by Orm. Nene, who was already waiting for them by the main entrance, greeted and congratulated them again.

"You have a meeting at 10 o'clock with the Engineering Department." Nene listed down Lingling's schedule for the day as they were walking.

As soon as they stepped into the building, Orm's gut feeling was right. All the other employees were looking at them and not-so-subtly whispering among themselves. Uncomfortable under people's scrutinizing gazes, she quietly walked behind Lingling.

Despite being one of the popular girls in their high school, Orm was the receiving end of a lot of girls' hate. Almost everyone in her grade was distancing themselves from her and would whisper behind her back.

"Look at her. She's so fake."
"Did you hear that she turned down P'Top? Who does she think she is?"
"Such a pick me."
"Ugh! She's annoying!"
"I hate her so much."

Orm didn't have a lot of friends back then, more so when Ying graduated two years ahead of her. She acted like it was nothing, but she hated it. Fortunately, things got a little better in college. To be honest, the thought of being introduced as 'the' Sirilak Kwong's wife to the world was thrilling, and she thought she could bear the whispers, but the lingering feeling of being under everyone's scrutiny kept coming back in situations like this. The only thing she could do and knew how to do was keep mum about it and pretend everything was okay.

"You have to go to the factory in the afternoon for the installation of the machine we acquired from Germany."

Nene continued, but Lingling wasn't listening at all. She knew her schedule for the week already anyway given that there were no changes. 'Why are you not walking beside me?' She gave it another few seconds before halting in her step, causing Orm and Nene to do so as well.

"Also, you're-" Nene pursed her lips.

Counting from one to three, after not getting any movement from Orm, Lingling turned around. Orm was only looking at her, so she tried to quietly tell her to stand next to her.

'What do you want?' Orm tried to deduce what Lingling wanted but couldn't get anything from her except that she looked like a grumpy puppy. But for a moment, she forgot that they were in the middle of the company lobby.

Lingling sighed. She turned towards Nene and asked, "You were saying?"

"Ah." Nene nodded. "Your grandmother's assistant called. She said Khun Usha requested lunch with you and Khun Kornnaphat."

'Me?' Orm only got the part where her name was mentioned. When she glanced towards Lingling, she saw her looking at her. Thinking her wife was waiting for her answer, she nodded. "Okay." She said, smiling a little.

Lingling's hand itched to snatch Orm's but didn't want to make her uncomfortable, so she didn't. Folding her hand, she let out a subtle sigh. Orm's mind seemed to be somewhere else, she thought. So, she turned her heels and walked slower this time hoping that her wife would eventually catch up. However, to her disappointment, she didn't.
