" I WANNA KNOW EXACTLY WHO'S RESPONSIBLE FOR KILLING MY HUSBAND " Carol whispered towards Liz, Damon and Nathaniel.

" I'm looking into it. But you have to be straight with me, is there any reason Richard was affected by the vampire device? " Liz asked, the four of them coming to a stop, Carol looked at her appalled " What are you implying? That he was one of them? Nathaniel " she looked at him alarmed and Nathaniel placed his hand on her shoulder giving her a small smile.

" No one is implying anything, okay? " Nathaniel said looking at her, Carol took a deep breath and looked at Liz " Your deputy screwed up, plain and simple, which makes you responsible " Carol snapped.

" Carol " Damon tried to cut in, Nathaniel took his hand off Carol " Your husband is the one who helped John Gilbert execute his idiot plan in the first place!" Liz said, slight anger in her voice.

" Someone got my husband killed " Carol snapped, tears in her eyes, her voice cracking.

" We're all on edge here " Damon said trying to ease the tension which annoyed Nathaniel " This isn't going to solve anything " Nathaniel added " You are still mourning, you suffered a great loss, the entire town has, we need to stick together, if we fight, we'll break down and we need to help one another " Nathaniel said, his voice soft as he looked between the two women, beside him, Damon nodded, Nathaniel having stolen his words.

" We need to trust one another " Damon said " We will get through this "

Meanwhile, Nari, Noah and Vivian walked up the steps into the Lockwood Mansion, Tyler who stood by the entrance door looked at them, his eyes softened at Nari who gave him a soft smile " Tyler " Vivian said softly giving him a soft hug that Tyler reciprocated " How are you? Wait that's a stupid question " Her cheekbones tainted red as she released him.

Tyler gave her a soft smile " I'm doing alright " His eyes then trailed off, eyes widening at a black truck riding up to the house, The Kang's and Noah looked over and Vivian's eyes widened in shock, her breath being taken away, she knew that car, that was Mason's car.

The car parked in front of them and Nari looked over at Vivian once she saw who was in the driver's seat, Vivian ran her fingers down her neck " I'm going inside, I need a drink " Vivian said spinning around and walking in, Nari glanced over at Tyler and patted his shoulder softly and entered with Noah following her.

" What was that? " Noah whispered to Nari who sighed and gnawed on her bottom lip " Mason Lockwood, Tyler's uncle and Vivian's ex boyfriend " Nari said trying to find her sister, Vivian and Mason had broken up months after the death of their parents, Mason had been the one who broke up with her.

NATHANIEL STOOD WITH CONSTANCE, A CUP OF BURBON in his hand, his eyes moving around, he hadn't seen his sisters or Noah yet but he knew they were here " Nathaniel, you remember Mason " Carol's voice seeped into his ears, he turned around and his eyes hardened at the sigh of Mason Lockwood, Constance who stood next to him looked between Nathaniel and Mason, sensing her boyfriend's anger.

Mason gave an awkward smile to Nathaniel who nodded taking a sip of his bourbon " Mason, how's it going? " They shook hands, Nathaniel gripped his hand harshly and Mason slightly flinched, surprise in his eyes, Nathaniel wondered if he broke his curse.

" All good, how are you? Carol tells me you're the Mayor now " Mason said letting go of Nathaniel's hand, Nathaniel rolled his lips and nodded " Under horrible circumstances " Nathaniel said a frown on his lips, he never planned to be the Mayor, even though he knew that being deputy mayor would lead to that, he just didn't think, it would come quick.
