Whilst Diana did say she'd start from the beginning, she isn't all that sure she should. She isn't ashamed of her past but that doesn't mean that she's okay with blurting it out in front of a group of strangers. Not to mention, she certainly isn't going to let this become a bonding experience between her and the Cullens. She isn't going to expose all of her secrets then they share theirs and it ends with them braiding each other's hair and gossiping.

Oh no, not on her watch.

"So you all heard about the vision Alice and I shared, right?" The vampires all nod, whilst Bella sends her a confused look. "'In every generation there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer.'"

Emmett tilts his head. "So you're the chosen one? Like some kind of messiah?"

Diana scrunches her nose up. "Chosen one, yes." She nods. "But messiah? I don't know, I've never really thought about it like that but if we are going off the dictionary definition I suppose."

"You said 'she', does that mean all slayers are women?" Alice asks excitedly, which earns a nod from Diana. "That's so cool, a line of warrior women!"

The blonde shakes her head and sighs. "Well I suppose, but how it came to be that way is honestly a little icky and not as heroic as some choose to believe." She informs them. When she first joined the other slayers at headquarters, Diana couldn't believe that she was special. Of all people, she was special. "The first, was a young woman called Sineya. She was the 'first of all ones'. She was taken against her will by three powerful mages- the shadow men- and imbued with the heart, soul and spirit of a demon to become the ultimate weapon against the dark forces."

Rosalie's features soften slightly upon hearing this, empathising with this woman in all kinds of ways. Sineya had never asked for that power but three men had forced it on her anyway. They disrupted her entire life and way of living so that they could bestow her life with a 'greater purpose'.

"And when she died, that power got passed down to another girl. And then another. It's always a woman and always a young one at that." Diana continues to explain. "The average slayer lives for around a year or so after awakening their potential. Three at most, that was until Buffy came along- she was kind of the boss lady at headquarters."

"Oh god, that's awful." Esme claps her hand around her mouth.

The story of a slayer always ends in tragedy, that is the only thing that's certain in their line of work.

"I'm sorry, headquarters?" Carlisle interrupts as the blonde goes to speak again.

Diana frowns. "If I can finish my story, you'll find out." She replies through gritted teeth. They wanted to know everything about her and yet they keep interrupting. "A few hundred centuries later, or whatever, the first evil and his 'minions'- or as we referred to them, the harbingers of death, started killing off potential slayers in an attempt to end the slayer line."

"The first evil?" Carlisle shudders at the thought.

The girl nods. "Yeah, according to Faith he was a real dick. Made people kill themselves, used their faces to taunt others and what not. Y'know, evil stuff." She recalls her mentor telling her about what happened one night when the two of them were on patrol. What she learned in lessons was a little different from what the older slayer told her but Diana prefers Faith's retelling- it's a little more gorey. "Apparently he did some crap to their heels too, but I'm not quite sure how he did that since he was noncaporeal."

The others in the room don't really know what to say. The vampires were all so concerned with what to do with Diana after finding out that she was a slayer, they had never even considered what that meant for her. Bella feels ashamed, she'd never really considered how or why her sister had become a slayer- she had been far too wrapped up in her own problems.
