"Where did you go yesterday?" Leah asks Diana lazily as she flips through the channels on the tv.
The blonde is sprawled across the floor, flipping through the newspaper Harry had left out looking for any signs that the nomads have killed anyone else. Why couldn't they just make things easy for her by lurking around a cemetery like vampires used to do in her world? "My dad made me go with Bella to Port Angeles. Her friends were getting dresses for the dance."
"She's not going?" Leah glances down at the girl from the sofa. Diana shakes her head. "Are you going?"
Diana shrugs. "Nah, I don't really have any friends at school so I'm not going to choose to spend an evening lurking in the corner." She snorts, folding up the newspaper.
The taller girl raises her eyebrow curiously. "You don't have any other friends? I can't see why, you're a delight to be around." She snorts as Diana gives her light smack on the knee without even turning to look at her.
"Shut up, you don't have any other friends either." She grumbles. Leah doesn't even need to tell her that she doesn't have any other friends, Diana wouldn't be here every afternoon if she did. The two of them are simply content with each other's presence.
Leah shuffles around on the sofa and props her head up on her arm. "Hey, why don't I go with you?"
Diana's face flushes slightly red. She had contemplated the idea of inviting the girl to go to the dance with her but the idea had been shut down almost as fast as it came. The act of inviting someone to the dance was more relationship territory than a friendship one and she doesn't want to risk stepping over the line. She's only glad that Leah can't see how much that statement has flustered her. "I don't know... you aren't exactly a sociable animal either."
"Come on, it'll be a laugh." She pleads, placing one of her warm hands on Diana's shoulders and giving it a little shake. "Come on, I didn't get to go to my last school dance." Which is true, she had been far too depressed after her break up with Sam to even consider doing.
Diana sighs. "Alright, but if it's a total snooze fest then we aren't sticking around." She relents, finally glancing back at Leah now that she's calmed down.
"Deal." Leah grins triumphantly.

When Diana gets back home, she returns to find Bella pacing around in front of her bedroom. She looks deep in thought but her expression brightens when she spots her sister coming up the staircase.
"You're here, finally." Bella grabs the shorter girl's hand and she tugs them into her bedroom.
Diana doesn't say anything as she perches herself down on the end of her sister's bed. However she can tell what Bella is about to say and she doesn't like it one bit.
"So... Edward and the rest of the Cullen's are vampires." The brunette begins breathlessly.
Diana has to admit, she figured it out surprisingly fast for someone who had no idea that the supernatural is real. "Yes." She nods, there's no use in trying to hide it anymore.
Bella takes her curt reply as a sign to continue talking. "Like actual, real life, vampires." She looks half crazed as she paces up and down the room. It was enough to drive anyone crazy. The idea of bloodthirsty monsters roaming the earth that no human weapon could stop- it makes regular people realise how utterly powerless they are.
"Can you see why I told you to leave him alone? They are dangerous." Diana asks her, grabbing Bella's arm and pulling her down next to her on the bed. "Whilst I'm still not thrilled by the idea of you knowing, at least you'll finally put this obsession you have with Edward to rest."
