The whole car ride we blast music and and I eat my apple.
Driving in to the school I feel out of place. It's so fancy. First I wanted to start at the public school but Hellen guided us to this private school instead.
She said it would be better for our future.
I play with my rings at my fingers. Looking out the window.
A rugby field line's to the side of the school. Two separate buildings. One,the main school and the other a sport building.
"Wow" Ciara exclaims. "It's so big. Like triple the size of our last school"
Owen makes a sound in the back of his throat. And I only nod.
Owen parked the car. The music stop playing and we feel silent.
"Okay, Ciara don't make trouble on the first day. You to Evie" Owen lectures us as always.
"Yes,sir,Yes" we both say in union. He shakes his head, then gives us a nod.
"Right, let's go"
We got out of the car. The humid summer air blows around me.
Ciara by my side I look around. Everyone has that snobbish look to them.
My eyes zero in to a group of people. Rugby players I think and my guess is right when one of them begins to throw a rugby ball to a blond guy.
Who do not notice the ball flying. All his focus is on a girl with big curly blonde hair.
Right when the ball is near to hit him in the head a big muscled guy with brown hair catches it in the palm of his hand.
The blonde lad doesn't even notice and continues to talk with the blonde girl.
I look away when Owen rounds the car to our side.
"Come on" Ciara says. She begins to walk and we follow.
People are looking at us when we walk. Not used to see new people.
My anxiety grows and I flip the hood of the black sweater over my head.
Owen notice and looks down at me. I'm 5'5 and he's 6'1.
"It's going to be better then Hudson." He speaks at last.
"I hope so" I mumble under my breath.
Hudson high was the worst. And I don't miss it one bit.
Not paying attention on where I'm going. I stumble by the first step of the staircase.
Owen takes hold on my arm preventing my fall. "Take it easy" he says concerned.
Wow, that could have been embarrassing. Falling in front everyone the first day of school.
I shake off the lingering feeling of embarrassment and continue to walk.
