Kiyotaka Pov
I took a deep sip of my coffee as I walked down the street towards the center of the large complex of ANHS. Above me in the sky was a flurry of snowflakes that floated down from the clouds hanging above.
The time was 11:45, 15 minutes before an agreed meeting time. The group consisting of the same figures from the karaoke room from the other day agreed to meet one last time to make sure everything was set up properly.
Alongside that, Yamauchi and Kikyo's date would begin. Thinking about that filled me with a sense of dread for an odd reason.
Perhaps my feelings are related to the fact that Yamauchi pisses off Kikyo greatly so I'll have to deal with her rage later.
At least I'm a listener, not a punching bag.
It was a somewhat cloudy day, with the sun occasionally appearing in the sky like a guest appearance. I took another sip of coffee while I stopped to look at the sky.
Snow activities usually consist of some other material. Sledding, snow forts, and a lot of the other activities that I know of require items like a sled or a shovel of some sort.
There are a few activities however that only require what you have on you. Snow angels only need you to have a coat, and that's just by mere preference to not freeze to death.
Last night I was watching a movie that was set in the winter. In one of the scenes, the main characters stuck their tongues out and let the snow fall onto them.
I was perplexed by this, and did some more research to see if this strange behavior was actually normal.
Surprisingly, multiple articles came up talking about the act of letting snowflakes land on your tongue. Not much could be said of what it felt like, so I was naturally curious about it.
Does it have a taste? Could it turn my tongue extremely cold? Or was it just something that looked silly so therefore people did it?
Experimentation is important for humanity to ever progress, so I should perform my duty as a human being.
Slowly and hesitantly, I pushed my tongue out of my mouth, past my teeth and lips and into the cold embrace of the January air.
It took a second for a flake to land on my outstretched tongue, but I realized it instantly when it did. A small cold sensation spread over the tip before quickly fading away into the warmth of my tongue and saliva.
Snap
The sound of a camera shutter alerted me to somebody's presence, and I quickly looked towards the sound. Standing a few feet away was a girl with purple hair and purple eyes.
(Yes, purple. I'm not sure how to say an in-canon explanation for why so many characters have different colored eyes so...COTE and Saiki K are in the same verse)
Taking a picture of a random person without their consent is odd at best and nefarious at worst, so having this new person present a potential threat to me was less than desirable. Part of me hoped she was just socially awkward, or was a street photographer who would ask me for permission to save this photo.
"Hi there!" I attempted to start a conversation, shaking off my bewilderment by her strange actions just now.
"Hello to you too, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka," she replied calmly. Her speech was far more polite than the average high school student and her way of carrying herself was filled with confidence. Her shoulders were held high, and she stared at my face without a single reservation.
It was strange that she didn't use any honorifics despite addressing me and speaking so politely. It's not that I especially care if someone younger or older than me addresses me with honorifics, just a bit surprising.
