Siya and Rajeev were sitting in the room, the silence was heavy and unsettling. Siya felt scared and unsure of what to do next. Meanwhile, Rajeev was struggling to control his growing emotions."Why are you silent? Speak up! Why did you come here to see me, Mrs. Rathore?"
Rajeev finally broke the silence.
Siya looked at him and took a deep breath.
"1, 2, 3, start," she counted in her mind.
"I know this is awkward for both of us, but it was very important for me to come here. I needed to talk to you about something very important."
Rajeev sat relaxed on the sofa.
"Speak up, Mrs. Rathore."
"Whatever you did with me that day, was wrong and unforgivable. But sometimes, we have to act against our will because of our needs. My needs brought me here, even though I didn't want to."
Her calm voice masked her inner fear.
Rajeev leaned back and smirked.
"Oh, Mrs. Rathore, was it so important that you came here to meet me?"
"If you call me Siya, I'd be even happier, Rajeev," Siya said with a smile despite her discomfort.
Seeing her smile, Rajeev's demeanor hardened. He shifted on the sofa and smirked.
"Alright, Siya. What's your need? Tell me, I can fulfill it."
Siya understood what he was trying to say but she decided to ignore it.
"Whatever happened, it was partly my fault too."
Her voice had an edge of anger, but she tried to stay calm.
"If I had understood things earlier and cleared them up sooner, none of this would have happened. But what's done is done. There's no point in holding onto the past."
Rajeev raised an eyebrow, looking skeptical.
"So, are you saying that you've forgiven me for what I did and it doesn't matter to you anymore?"
"Yes," Siya replied, trying to sound sincere.
"I've forgiven you! There's no point in holding grudges. We should handle the situation maturely. After all, in business, we need to be practical, right?"
Rajeev smiled, satisfied.
"That's good! Finally, you understand. So, what exactly do you want from me?"
Siya, feeling nervous, scratched her neck.
"Since you took back your project, our company has been struggling. You already know about it. So, I want you to give us the project back. We can start from scratch and fix everything, Rajeev."
Even though the project wasn't her concern anymore, she needed to regain Rajeev's trust.
Rajeev laughed mockingly at her words.
"First of all, I didn't take back the project. Your husband beat me up badly and broke the collaboration and contract himself. It's all over the news. Have you heard?"
"I'm very sorry for that, but why are we talking about the past? We should all move on and start fresh. If you give us the project again, I'll do anything you ask. I won't give you a single chance to get into trouble. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?"
Her words hinted at something, and Rajeev was not fool enough not to understand the hints she was giving him. He was happy but surprised too.
"I can't believe you're saying this, especially after that day. I thought you'd never want to see me again, but now you're here, offering yourself to me. It's hard to believe, you know." He said.
