Bringing this book into fruition happened after my interview with Miss Gloria. She is a real person. She is a Philippine Registered Medical Technologist, Registered Nurse, United States Registered Nurse, HIV advocate, speaker, and a Juris Doctor graduate. She would often invite herself sa mga paaralan upang ipaliwanag sa mga mag-aaral at guro ang mga tamang impormasyon tungkol sa HIV. Her goal is to eliminate the stigma against PLHIV at magbigay ng tamang impormasyon base sa datos ng MHO, DOH, World Health Organization, Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and SACCL. She was my inspiration in writing this book. Some schools try to avoid inviting speakers who talk about HIV because of the stigma revolving around it. So, she would man up and invite herself to schools to discuss HIV awareness. Her goals, just like in the book, are to eliminate the stigma about HIV and provide facts. The data presented in this book was inspired by her experience working with the Municipal Health Department and the Department of Health. Before writing this book, I asked her about the right things I would need to incorporate. She served as my guide as I shaped this novel. I remember how happy she was last April 2024 when I shared with her that I was planning to write a novel about HIV and how much I needed her help.
