Y/N sat on her bed, staring blankly at the wall. Her room was a mess, mirroring the chaos in her mind. Empty bottles and crumpled cigarette packs littered the floor, and the once-familiar comfort of her bed felt like a prison. Her appetite was gone, and she could barely muster the energy to leave her room.
It had been weeks since Enzo broke up with her, and she still couldn't understand why. They had been so happy, or at least she thought they were. His sudden change had blindsided her, leaving her heartbroken and lost.
Enzo, too, was struggling. He had broken up with Y/N because he had started to develop feelings for another girl, and the guilt was eating him alive. He hated himself for hurting Y/N, the girl who had always been there for him. But he had thought it was the right thing to do—end things before it got worse.
One evening, Enzo decided to check on Y/N. He couldn't stand the thought of her suffering, even though he knew he was the cause. He knocked on her door, anxiety gnawing at him. When there was no answer, he used the spare key she had given him when they were together.
Opening the door, he was hit by the smell of smoke and alcohol. His heart sank as he saw her sitting on the floor, looking pale and frail.
"Y/N," he said softly, stepping inside.
She looked up, her eyes dull and lifeless. "What are you doing here, Enzo?"
"I needed to see you," he replied, kneeling beside her. "I can't stand seeing you like this."
"Well, you don't have to worry about me anymore," she said bitterly, reaching for another cigarette.
Enzo gently took it from her hand, his eyes filled with concern. "Please, love, stop this."
Y/N flinched at the nickname. "Don't call me that. You only called me that when we were together."
Enzo sighed, his heart heavy. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I know I hurt you, but I still care about you. I can't watch you destroy yourself like this."
She looked away, tears welling up in her eyes. "Why did you leave me, Enzo? You never even explained."
Enzo hesitated, the guilt and shame weighing heavily on him. "I... I started to develop feelings for someone else. I thought it was better to end things before I hurt you even more."
Y/N's tears spilled over, her shoulders shaking with sobs. "You broke up with me because of another girl?"
"I didn't want to lie to you," Enzo said, his voice pained. "I thought it was the right thing to do. But seeing you like this... I realize how much I've hurt you."
Y/N's voice was filled with anguish. "I loved you, Enzo. I still love you. How could you do this to me?"
Enzo pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly. "I'm so sorry, Y/N. I never wanted to hurt you. I hate myself for what I did."
She clung to him, the familiar warmth of his embrace bringing a small measure of comfort. "But it hurts so much."
"I know," Enzo whispered, his own tears falling. "And I'll do anything to help you get through this."
Y/N pulled away, her eyes filled with pain and determination. "No, Enzo. I can't do this if you're still around. Every time I see you, it just makes it worse. I need to move on, and I can't do that if you're here."
Enzo's heart sank. "But I want to help you. I can't stand seeing you like this."
"Then leave," she said firmly. "Please, Enzo. Just go."
