Draco Malfoy had always been the center of Y/N's world. They had a strong relationship, full of laughter and tender moments. But there was one person who always seemed to be in the way: Astoria Greengrass. Astoria was Draco's best friend, and Y/N couldn't help but notice that she always seemed to ruin their special moments.
One sunny afternoon, Y/N and Draco were having a picnic by the Black Lake. They were enjoying each other's company when Astoria appeared out of nowhere.
"Hey, Draco! I just got these tickets to a Quidditch match! Want to come?" she asked, completely ignoring Y/N.
Draco hesitated, glancing at Y/N. "Uh, maybe another time, Astoria. Y/N and I were having a picnic."
Astoria pouted. "Oh, come on, Draco. You can have a picnic any day."
Y/N sighed, feeling invisible. This wasn't the first time Astoria had interrupted them. And every time, Draco seemed oblivious to her intentions.
Days turned into weeks, and the interruptions continued. Astoria always had some excuse to pull Draco away. She'd claim she needed help with homework, wanted to practice dueling, or just wanted to hang out. And every time, Draco would go along, not realizing how it hurt Y/N.
One evening, Y/N and Draco were cuddling in the Slytherin common room. It was a rare moment of peace. Just as Y/N was about to kiss him, Astoria barged in.
"Draco! I need you to come with me. It's urgent!" she exclaimed.
Draco looked at Y/N, torn. "I'll be right back, love."
As he followed Astoria out, Y/N felt tears prick her eyes. Enough was enough. She couldn't keep watching Draco get pulled away from her.
The next day, Y/N decided to confront Draco. They met in the courtyard, and she took a deep breath.
"Draco, we need to talk," she began.
Draco looked concerned. "What's wrong, Y/N?"
"It's about Astoria. She always comes between us. Every time we're together, she finds a way to interrupt. I can't take it anymore. You need to choose, Draco. It's either her or me," Y/N said, her voice shaking.
Draco's eyes widened in surprise. "Y/N, you don't mean that."
"I do, Draco. I love you, but I can't keep fighting for your attention. If you really care about me, you'll see what she's doing," Y/N said, tears streaming down her face.
Draco was speechless. He hadn't realized how much Astoria's actions were affecting Y/N. He needed time to think, but Y/N took his silence as a sign.
"I see. You chose her," Y/N whispered, turning away.
"Y/N, wait!" Draco called, but she was already walking away.
Astoria, who had been watching from a distance, smirked. She approached Draco. "Don't worry, Draco. Y/N was always too sensitive."
Draco's heart ached. He had lost the girl he loved, and it was all because he hadn't seen what was right in front of him.
Over the next few days, Draco noticed how Astoria badmouthed Y/N whenever she could. She made snide comments about Y/N's insecurities and tried to make Draco believe he was better off without her. But Draco wasn't blind anymore. He saw Astoria's jealousy for what it was.
One evening, Draco was sitting alone, thinking about Y/N. He missed her smile, her laughter, and the way she made him feel. He realized he had made a mistake. Y/N was the one he wanted, not Astoria.
Determined to make things right, Draco found Y/N in the library. She looked up, surprised to see him.
"Y/N, I need to talk to you," Draco said, sitting down beside her. "I'm sorry. I was blind to what Astoria was doing. I should have seen how much she was hurting you. Please, give me another chance. I choose you, Y/N. I always have."
Y/N looked into his eyes, searching for sincerity. She saw the regret and love in his gaze and felt her heart soften.
"Draco, I..." she began, but he interrupted her.
"Please, Y/N. I love you. I can't lose you," Draco pleaded.
After a moment of silence, Y/N nodded. "Alright, Draco. But things need to change. No more Astoria coming between us."
Draco smiled, relief flooding through him. "I promise. It's just us from now on."
As they embraced, Draco knew he would never take Y/N for granted again. He had learned his lesson, and he was determined to make their love stronger than ever.
