I'm not in the mood to do any work right now and I'm feeling tired. I turned on the big screen to watch Rhea, but suddenly, the door opened and Olivia entered.
“What are you watching on the big screen?" She asked and continued walking, her attention still fixed on the screen
"It's Rhea's current location." I answered and redirected my attention back to the big screen.
“How do you know her location? Did you put a tracker on her?"
"No, I gave her a necklace with a hidden camera. That's how I keep tabs on where she is." What's up this time? Suddenly barging into the office with no reason.
“Why do you need to know where she is at all times? I don't understand why you need to follow Rhea so closely. It feels like an invasion of her privacy." Why does she need to ask me when she knows very well that she has done the same thing to her wife?
"I just want to make sure she's safe and doing well." I sighed and shook my head.
“But why the need for a secret camera? You can just ask her directly about her whereabouts." Well, she's right and I know Rhea will admit it if I ask her, but I also want to be sure because something bad might happen to her someday.
“She might not always tell me the truth, especially if she's with someone I don't approve of.” Except for that reason.
"Who is she with that you don't approve of?" I could see in my peripheral vision that she was looking at me, so I couldn't look directly at her.
"There's this woman she's been hanging out with, and I'm not comfortable with it." I answered weakly and I don't know if she heard me because she was a bit far away. All I know is that my mood changes when she is with Rhea.
"Why not? Is there something wrong with her?"
"I just have a bad feeling about her. She's not good enough for her.” Absolutely, she is not deserving enough for her, and it's clear that she never will be.
“You seem to be quite fixated on Rhea's life. This level of surveillance feels like you're obsessed with her." I was taken aback by her statement, and I realized the truth behind her words. I took a moment to contemplate the reasons why I am acting this way towards Rhea.
"I'm not obsessed, I just care for her safety. I don't want her to get hurt or be with the wrong person." I explained and I hope she believes me.
“But doesn't Rhea have the right to make her own choices and decisions?"
"Of course she does, but I'm just trying to look out for her best interests.”
I take a deep breath and respond, "Olivia, there's something I haven't told you yet. Rhea and I are actually married. We got married in secret. And as for my fiancé..."
I paused, gathering my thoughts.
"I caught him with another man. He cheated on me… with a man. He's gay, and our engagement was a sham. I couldn't go through with the wedding after finding that out.” I nibbled on my lip and hesitated to look at her expression.
"I can't believe what you just told me. What does Rhea have to do with your fiancé's betrayal? And why did you marry her? Is it for revenge against him? Is that the reason why you chose her?” She looks stunned, and it's clear from her voice that she's dismayed. But I also need to explain my side, and I won't let myself be the loser in my relationship with that man.
“At first, I thought it would be convenient to use Rhea as a way to take revenge on him. But over time, my feelings for her changed. I started to become attracted to her, and it surprised me how much I cared for her. When she suddenly got married to someone else, it caught me off guard. I hadn't anticipated that happening, and it made me feel a sense of jealousy that I couldn't control.” Was Olivia already aware of the marriage? Her reaction was nonchalant as she listened to my confession. She seemed unbothered by the revelation.
