Okay, so maybe physical affection helps the mind sometimes, how was she to know that in her woeful moments? Last night had certainly proved it, she was in great spirits, everything was amazing and the colors even seemed brighter, but like.... She couldn't have foretold that.
Everyone could tell though, at least that was what it felt like.
Especially Becky. Maybe it was the proximity, but Juliette could feel her gaze all but boring through her.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Juliette asked, narrowing her eyes at Becky, who blinked, seeming to come back into herself as she straightened up, clearing her throat in an almost defensive manner.
Which was fair considering the fact that Juliette hadn't seen a look that adoring from someone she wasn't dating in a very long time... Hopefully Becky wasn't falling back into her crush...
Bad joke. That joke could make Carly hit me, she hits hard.
"Like what?" Becky asked, and she gestured at her face before leaning back against the wall.
In a gay way.
Like... A very gay way... Either gay or in adoration, and adoration felt a little gay in and of itself if she was being honest.
"Like I'm a marvel or something." She leaned back on her palms, giving Becky an easy smile, feeling calmness in her heart... It was weird, she hadn't felt panicked even once... That was just what good sex did, huh? "Like I'm flattered Becks, but I don't think I'm actually your type, not to mention-." Becky covered her mouth with her hand to silence her, pulling it back before Juliette could lick her palm.
Killjoy.
"Okay, stop talking, Jesus Christ." She hissed, her demeanor shifting back to joy a moment later. "It's just really good to see a smile on your face." Juliette raised an eyebrow, cocking her head to the side.
She'd thought that she'd done a pretty good job of at least pretending that her entire life didn't feel like hell on earth... At least on the outside, her inside thoughts had felt like someone was lighting her on fire with kerosene, putting her out, and then lighting her again, but people couldn't see that.
That was on the inside.
"Are you saying I haven't been smiling much lately?" Juliette asked, knowing the answer already. Becky gave her a look, nodding seriously... Damn, she didn't even pretend that that wasn't the case...
Had she been that depressing to be around?
Probably... Yeah, probably. That made sense.
"Yes." "That's 100% what I am saying. Your life has been incredibly dark lately, so I don't really blame you for that-."
"I would hope not."
"I'm just saying that it's nice to see a smile out of you." Becky clarified, and Juliette nodded, her smile only growing as she thought back to the night before, how Esme's hands had travelled over her body, how they'd begged her for more and more and more until it was practically morning...
It'd been the best night she'd had in months, smiling was only natural after that.
"Yeah, Esme and I had... A really good night." She murmured, watching Becky's eyebrows raise in surprise - not disgust, thankfully... Juliette still worried about that sometimes, she knew that embedded shit could die hard.
