The beeping of the machines was starting to drive her insane, or maybe that was the very likely two hours of actual sleep that she had gotten over the past two days, either one of those could be responsible.  Like, she was pretty sure that it was somewhere in the hospital's fucking training that they could only take night vitals when the patient was already sleeping peacefully and has to be woken up by a stranger hovering over them like a goddamn sleep paralysis demon.

Seriously, she felt like she was back in her Benadryl phase, and she was not feeling it, not in conjunction with everything else she was feeling.  She just wanted to be discharged so that she could go sleep in her own fucking bed with her partner next to her instead of hunched over in a position that they still would not admit was hurting their back.

Juliette blinked, trying hard to wet her dried eyes as she stared at the tiles on the ceiling, enjoying the moment of quiet and emptiness in the midst of everyone's afternoon shufflings - her father and Gianna were in the lobby, presumably talking about her home care for when she was finally released from this hell hole, Tegan and Emma had gone to run some errands so that they could attempt to smuggle her in food that wasn't provided by the hospital, Penny was at work, Shelby was gathering things from Emma's to bring back to the trailer for her, and she'd forced Esme to come with her to change their clothes and take a shower, and Micheal... Still hadn't shown up since the first day.

She didn't blame him though, he had as many bad memories in this hospital as she did, and his were more recent.  She couldn't imagine how it felt to watch his brother be restrained and taken away, to have the blame cast on him even if it wasn't his fault, and to have to sit there in the lobby while everyone else checked on him because he would lose it the second Micheal was in the room.

Honestly, she wouldn't blame him if he never showed up to visit her, she'd be out of here by the next day anyway, and then he could come by the house.  Plus, he'd been texting her, checking in on her, making sure she had what she needed and she knew that if she said she was lacking anything, he'd be there in a heartbeat.  She just didn't want to make him, that felt cruel.

"I didn't expect it to be so empty in here, figured that Shelby and Esme would be in here at least." Juliette jumped, looking up to see Micheal leaning in the doorway, a nervous smile on his face as he gave her a little wave, holding a small teddy bear in his hand.  "Sorry I didn't come by yesterday, I-." She cut him off, shaking her head.

He never had to explain himself to her.

"No, I get it.  This place..." She trailed off, and he let out a breathless sort of chuckle, cocking his head to the side as he slid further into the room.

She didn't know why he hadn't just come in and sat down already... Like, did he become a vampire behind her back, did he suddenly have to be invited into every situation?

That would be incredibly inconvenient, she always just assumed he had a seat at her table.

"Fucking sucks?" He said, and Juliette pushed out a breath and nodded, wincing at the twinge in her head as she did... The pain meds hadn't kicked back in yet, they'd been fucking late with her doses again.

God, this place really did suck.

"Fucking sucks." She gestured for him to come further in, wincing at the strain it put on her shoulder... Sure, it wasn't the arm that had had a fucking knife through it, but getting rammed into a wall multiple times certainly hadn't made it feel very good. "Come in." She insisted, and he took a step forward before pausing.
