Not waking Esme up when she was awake was a near impossible task that was what Juliette had realized.  They could easily sneak away from the bed and do something early in the morning, but she could not because they were just so tuned into her that there was no shot.

Did she still try to get ready as quietly as possible to go see Britt and Dakota?  Yeah.

Did it work?

No.

It failed.

Miserably.

"You don't have to move around so quietly, love." Esme's gruff voice made her jump as she turned around to see them looking at her with a soft, lazy smile on their face, hair a mess from the pillow that they had been resting on... They looked like a fucking dream, one that she really didn't want to walk away from... But she'd agreed to meet Dakota and Britt, and it'd be shitty as hell to bail on them just because her partner looked hot.

She sighed, making her way back over to the bed so that she could cup their face and press a slow, lingering kiss to their lips and another to their forehead before she pulled back to look down at them... Nothing beat Esme in the morning, there was just something so special about how they looked when they weren't even close to trying, nowhere near ready for the day that made her heart skip a beat.

My lover.

"I know that I don't have to move quietly - I want to move quietly, because I want to make sure that you're able to relax and enjoy your second to last night in the most comfortable bed that I've ever be in in my entire life."  She said, and Esme chuckled, a slow, lazy sound as they shifted around to lay on their side, staring up at her with an expression that showed that they were slowly rousing - not something she wanted.  She wanted them to rest, they deserved to have this day to themself, they'd been doing so much this trip.

Had they complained?  No, but that didn't mean that they hadn't wanted to, she was almost sure that they were sick of her... Not really, but that was what her brain was telling her, and she couldn't really think of a reason as to why that would be incorrect.  She was around them a lot.

"I don't know if this is the most comfortable bed I've ever been in... I like our bed quite a bit." Juliette smiled to herself as she turned from Esme, scanning the room for her purse - she had no doubt that Dakota would sooner eat dirt over letting her pay, but she figured that bringing the purse along wasn't a bad move.  She didn't want to be assumptive, maybe they'd split it. "Plus, I miss little man."  Juliette's smile dropped as she rolled her eyes, snatching her purse off the closet door handle.

The cute moment of Esme calling it their bed was very much overshadowed by that evil little kitten.  He had no respect for the fact that Juliette had rescued him, and even though she loved him and would gut anyone who dared harm him, sometimes she did want to toss him to the wolves.

Granted, she'd end up saving him again and he'd still end up picking Esme.

"I'm sure that absolute demon misses you too." Juliette muttered, walking over the mirror so that she could fix her hair, not wanting it to look uneven... Totally not because she wanted to distract herself from the fact that the demon cat could have chosen his savior as his person but instead decided Esme was amazing.

Granted... She couldn't really argue with him for that, she'd obviously also picked Esme as her person but c'mon, she saved him from a cold fate. Esme chuckled, and she heard the blankets rustle before she felt warm arms around her waist. She looked back in the mirror and smiled, watching as Esme tucked their face into her neck, pressing soft kisses there as she did.
