Sebastian POV

"Come on Abbott, having this spell book from Salazar Slytherin may be the break I have been waiting for!" Why aren't you more excited? And then he added, "why did Ominis leave so damn upset?".

Iris looked back at him like he was sprouting two heads. She didn't answer and just stared. This was starting to piss him off. He understood it wasn't what any of them had really wanted to do, but they had to see that it's all a means to an end!!! Anne was fucking dying on him.

"Abbott, I thought we were friends, I thought we see eye to eye". Sebastian added coldly, "or is none of this actually important to you? Was I wrong about you?".

Iris's eyes flashed with anger, and maybe some small about of fear? He knew he was pushing her, and might regret it later, but he needed to keep pushing.

He watched her as she took a deep, trembling breath. He expected an angry, emotional edge to her voice once she started speaking. Instead, after her deep breath, her tone was cool and collected.

"Do you not realize what you just asked your best friend, someone you recently told me meant a lot to you, to do?". Iris paused. She added, "what you just asked him to do was traumatic, and he knew his favorite Aunt's remains were there! How can YOU not see what just happened".

She stared him down with an intensity he had not seen since his mother was alive, the kind of look that lets you know you really messed up.

Sebastian felt like he had been slapped, he immediately went on the defensive. "He loves Anne, he knows we have to do whatever we can".

"He loved his Aunt too! He loves you too!" Iris exclaimed. "You are an idiot. Things like this  make it hard to want to be close to someone".

He paused and decided to let the words sink in. The phrase "loves you" got his attention alright. He ran his fingers through his hair and paced back and forth. Iris seemed willing to let him pace and think as she stood by. Ominis was his friend, knew him better than anyone. Had he assumed incorrectly that Ominis would ultimately see reason for the good of Anne?

Sebastian stopped pacing and told Iris, "he will see why I had to do this, he will know why this was the right thing to do. He is logical."

Iris hung her head, sighed and added, "how do you not hear yourself? You didn't, and haven't mentioned Ominis' feelings even once. His feelings should matter to you of all damn people".

Sebastian stood tall, appearing offended, "he is my friend, of course I consider his feelings". He added, "I know him a hell of alot better than you".

"You are so blinded by Anne's situation, you aren't focusing on what's in front of you. You just hurt Ominis". Iris said to him, he was just starting to sense she was getting angry.

Sebastian was getting uncomfortable, and was starting to think she might be right to a degree. He knew he shouldn't, but he hated being wrong, so he doubled down.

"It's not a big deal Abbott, I don't know why you care, you barely know him" Sebastian stated to her. "You barely know Anne, I don't think you understand".

"Sebastian!! I do care, because I try to be a caring person. You should care more because you are in love with him! Seriously, what is wrong with you?". Iris was yelling now, her hands clenched into fists.

Sebastian staggered back. Now he definitely felt like she gut punched him. He needed that though, damn it.......she was right. He had the decency to blush at her saying he was in love with Ominis, but not argue the fact that he loved him. Iris was smarter than that and deserved better, especially since she so soundly put him in his place. Plus, he was not ashamed he had feelings for him.
