Sebastian POV

He couldn't believe that Ominis came to that conclusion. He couldn't believe that Ominis was not loosing his mind right ur about now, he knew would be burning the world down if Ominis even had a passing interest in anyone else. That's what made this situation so fucked up. He didn't care for Iris, well, as more than as a cherished friend that is. He was simply being protective, like he would be with Anne if she was dating.

Yuck- fucking gross, even trying to make that argument in his brain made his skin crawl. He did find her attractive, and had found himself having.....well....very compromising dreams about her occasionally. He had the same dreams, but at a higher frequency of course, of Ominis. The Iris ones just seemed to sneak in there from time to time.

"Sebastian, are you paying attention, I asked you what would happen if you attempted a hybrid of these two plants", Professor Garlick asked in her sing-songy voice. Her cheerfulness always grated on his nerves. Figured both Iris and Ominis thought she was kind and whimsical. Whatever.

He stumbled out a half hearted answer that earned him snickers from a few classmates. He did his best to at least attempt to focus on this subject. He had to take it 6th year because he had kept pushing it off. He didn't have the faintest idea of what he would do when he got out of school, but it would not be damned herbology.

He was walking to his next class, at least this one he had with Ominis, and he would get to stare at him all he wanted. He loved doing that, especially since the History of Magic class was exceedingly boring, sometimes he even tried to sneak his hands under the table to tease Ominis. He hadn't let him yet, but he was hoping someday. He had a naughty smile on his face when he noticed Iris come into his line of site. Her face was flushed and she was pulling Amit along, holding both of his hands. He saw them go into a darkened part of the hallway. He tried not to look as he passed the almost deserted hallway, but had to at least make sure she was ok.

Amit had her one hand pinned next to her face and his hand was on the other side. She had her free hand running through his hair as they shared an intense appearing kiss. His stomach dropped, his heart flip-flopped and he felt the familiar rage begin to rise. He heard Iris' little sighs of pleasure and he panicked knowing that she was enjoying herself. He had to leave before he blasted that jerk and accidentally ruined their friendship.

He fled to the Undercroft instead of class and spent the next period flinging spells at the wall until he was near exhaustion.

He felt Ominis come up behind him and wrap his arms around him. He let himself relax back into him.

"What's wrong Sebastian?". You are sweating and out of breath, your mood feels...... sad?".

He kissed the hand that Ominis was holding him with across his chest. "It doesn't matter, there is no solution. The only reasonable answer is I am going mad".

"Iris again?" Ominis said slowly. Like he knew the answer but also didn't want to know. He was tired of lying, wouldnt make much sense now anyway.

"Yes, but I will figure this out. It's not because I am attracted to her, I just think she is pretty, like most people do. I don't have feelings for her, I have feelings for you". Sebastian pleaded, begged Ominis to believe him. He was pleading and begging himself to believe him.

"Ok my dear. Let's lie down together", Ominis said gently. The kindness broke his fucking heart.

It was one week before the end of the year. Iris, Poppy and Natty had just returned from a last minute, impromptu adventure where they may have or may not have obliterated a newly forming poacher ring. Word was that they were attempting to find the phoenix, Persephone, that she had been recently released back into the mountains from her vivarium. Iris had done so because she thought the poachers were gone. Poppy always knew though, the animals themselves would non- verbally let her know, and Natty was tipped off by her law enforcement friends in Hogsmead. They had returned and proudly were celebrating together when Garreth and Amit came up. They spent the next hour excitedly discussing the details of their raid on the camp. They all knew it was their last hurrah before school ended for the year.
