Acceptance and Support

The next day, Iris went about her morning and her first class with trepidation. She had felt very brave and very right yesterday after talking to Sebastian. Once she woke up, she realized she had spent the whole night dreaming of the warmth of him wrapped around her and smell that lingered in her brain after his hug. She felt pangs in her heart for him, wishing he had stormed away to proclaim his affection for her instead of Ominis.

She was also anxious that maybe Ominis didn't feel the same way about him, and that now Sebastian would be crushed. Or worse yet, that both of them would be mad at her for even encouraging such a thing. A small part of her was also worried about, what if Ominis did feel the same way, would they leave her out completely? Why would they even need her if they had such a close bond with each other. Classic Ravenclaw... always overthinking things.

The next class, Ominis was also in it. They had never sat together before so she probably wouldn't even talk to him. She was hoping to pick up on some kind of clue regarding his feelings though. She was always early, so as the students filtered into Herbology, she was trying to look nonchalant and preoccupied with whatever plant was in front of her. Soon enough, Professor Garlick was beginning the class. She looked to her side and Ominis was actually standing by her for once.

"Good Morning, Iris", he smiled at her and added "you smell lovely this morning".

"Thank you?" Iris replied, "are you doing ok?" She was still worried about him.

Ominis placed his finger over his mouth and made a small shushing sound. "Class is starting and wouldn't want to miss any of the Professor's flowery rambling my dear". He then winked at her and turned his attention completely towards the teacher.

Iris smiled a little, Ominis seemed to be in the best mood she had ever seen him in, that was probably a good sign. The next class was defense against the dark arts so Sebastian and Ominis sat in their normal spots. They acted completely normal, and Sebastian didn't seek her out at all. Now she was less convinced. Maybe he had backed out and not said anything to Ominis?

During lunch, their group of friends were clumped together. Sebastian and Ominous joined them and sat near Iris and Natty, soon they were both joining in the conversation of the group. One thing that was obvious at least was that Ominis didn't seem mad at Sebastian anymore, so that was at least a positive. As lunch was winding down, Sebastian looked over, he had a little gleam in his eye.

"Abbott, I believe the three of us have a free period, want to go to the courtyard with us?" He said.

Iris nodded and followed eagerly, her curious nature was very peaked. Once they got closer to the quieter courtyard, the boys seemed to naturally start walking closer together. They all sat down by the fountain, and Sebastian reached over and grabbed Ominis' hand. Iris watched as Ominis threaded his fingers with Sebastian's and squeezed.

"I wanted to thank you for being there for both of us, and for knocking some sense into Sebastian here. I'm glad to know I finally have back-up in with him. It has been dreadfully difficult trying to manage him" Ominis told her, he sounded like a perfect gentleman as he teased Sebastian.

"Haha, you think you are very cute now, don't you?" Sebastian teased back, and leaned over and gave Ominis a quick kiss on the cheek. He looked at Iris. "Thank you from me as well, and as an apology for my shitty behavior, we want you to be the first to know we are together".

Iris couldn't help herself, she threw herself at both of them and wrapped her arms around them. "This makes me so happy, you two are so adorable together."

Both boys were blushing, and Ominis was clearly surprised and overwhelmed by the physical affection from her, in addition to being called adorable. He was rigid against her hug, but then slowly adjusted and leaned his cheek against her soft hair.
