《Mom, let's go to the park today! There's Sophie with her new bicycle! She said she'll let me try it out! 》
I exclaim, running down the spiral stairs, already ready to leave the house.
Destination playground.
Sophie is my best friend, we've been inseparable since the first day of school.
《All right honey, whatever. Just a moment I'll get ready and come over.》
I see mum coming out of the kitchen, unfortunately I'm still small so I can't leave the house alone.
The Great War has been over for 20 years, but everyone here in Poland is always on the alert.
I wasn't there then, but mum and dad were and they told me it was a terrifying experience.
Grandpa died to save Poland, my magnificent state, from those asshole Germans!
Living here in Poland since I was born, I have become very protective about everything that is said about it.
There are some classmates of mine who are Germans, they say the situation in Germany is not really the best.
They say that the Second Reich is collapsing and the Third Reich is being born, led by a certain Adolf Hitler, only time will tell if he will be good at leading Germany or not.
But above all, let us hope that he will not, like the Second Reich, attack Poland.
From the boredom of waiting, I sat on our small kitchen table, watching her finish cooking our lunch.
《Mom, are you almost finished!?》
I ask, swinging my legs to pass the time faster.
《Linda, how about you start heading to the park by yourself, I'll join you after I finish here》
Mum, the one who used to forbid me to go outside the inner garden of our house alone, is asking me to go outside, not only outside the house. But also to the park by myself.
The road to the park is not very long, so I won't have many chances to get lost around the city!
There are so many shops, and their windows are so inviting.
Especially the one with sweets, just looking at it makes you really hungry, but mum says sweets are bad for you.
And as she always says, 'the best things are always the things that hurt the most'.
The weather is really nice, there is a magnificent sun and there are no clouds in the sky, as soon as I am near the park in my neighbourhood, you can already smell the delicious smell of fresh popcorn.
And you can see some streamers, autumn is coming, and with it the big rains and cold days, not to mention the bare trees and leaves on the ground.
The park is a place out of this world, it seems that when you are having fun in there everything stops, time stands still, and you only think about having fun and admiring the scenery around you.
I'm not far from the big pond here in Warsaw.
《Linda! I'm here by the pond! 》
I hear someone calling me, of course it's Sophie!!!
I immediately get the instinct to run in her direction, and immediately start running happily to see Sophie again.
《I'm coming, Sophie!!》
I shout at the top of my lungs, seeing the girl energetically waving her arms in the air.
I run with a dumb grin towards Sophie, and there, leaning on a tree, I see a beautiful bicycle with numerous bows and flowers on it.
It exactly represents Sophie in character.
《Hello, Sophie! I could take it for a ride》
I ask him, pointing at his new bicycle.
