《Do you want to make us part of your speech, or do you want to keep us in the dark! 》
Exclaims Aunt Teresa, who had just come out of the kitchen with a political book in her hand, holding a finger to mark where she had come to read... from the look of it she seemed unnerved, from the commotion in the living room and from what can be deduced she heard the whole conversation.
《Nothing to worry about, Miss Gasperoni》
Alex answered him coldly, without looking at her face. The aunt seems offended by this behaviour from the German, so much so that at a quick pace, she heads upstairs, most likely her room.
《My daughter is like this, forgive her Mr. Hiber.... manne! 》
《It's Hibermann, ma'am.》
《Ah, sorry I'm not good with foreign surnames...》
Grandma says, in total embarrassment bowing her head down a little.
《I'm going to calm down for a moment, dear you can put on another cup of coffee, it'll serve everyone...》
And having said that, Grandma dashes upstairs, heading towards Aunt Teresa's room.
While grandpa goes towards the kitchen together with Uncle Luigi, preparing cups and drinks.
So it's just me, Alex and Uncle Carlo left in the living room, and the situation is suffocating.
《I briefly go to the bathroom, let no one move.》
Alex and I don't answer, I want to take him to mum's room so that I can show him the package and the letter or he can tell me about who my dad is....
As soon as the bathroom door closes I run towards the chair next to the one Alex is on.
《So where is your room? 》.
《It's in the attic together with Mom's room》.
《Is there a day when there's no one in the house or that you can pick up that stuff and take it out of the house? 》
《Yes, I have extra German lessons with Teacher Heidi, so we could meet there.》
《Do they know about this? 》
《No, I'll just tell them that I'll go around with some classmates. They always believe it》
And as soon as I finish saying that, I hear the bathroom door open and out comes Uncle, who as before was unnerved but I believe the sight of me and him nearby unnerved him even more as he approaches with a quick step and with a wave of his hand indicates me to return to my seat from before.
When my uncle has turned around for a moment, I see Alex make a fine wave with his hands, now I have a double date with the Hibermann brothers to solve the mystery of who my father is! I'm happy, now I have allies on my side!
《Uncle, can I go to my room that I want to rest for a while?》
I ask him while Uncle Luigi and Grandpa are also coming back.
《Go upstairs, and don't come back down! 》
《All right, Uncle. Goodbye then Alex! 》
《Goodbye! You have to say goodbye you don't see him anymore!》
He punctuates my sentence word for word and then points me back towards the stairs, as if to tell me that my time here talking is over.
I catapult myself towards the upper floor, I hear Grandma and Aunt Teresa chatting and even a little arguing.
I decide to pop into Mum's room, after all from now on they will keep an eye on me all the time I am awake, how nice!
I fetch the key and try to enter through the door, which creaks a bit, and manage to hide in time in the room that I hear someone walking down the corridor on the first floor.
《I narrowly escaped! 》
As I was saying that, I leaned against the door for support.
I have to do worse than a thief so that all the people downstairs don't hear me.
Now I can, much more calmly, have a good look at Mum's room, because Uncle and no one else will come up here for quite a while yet.
I approach the bedside table and the only objects on there that attract my attention 100% are the fateful letter and the parcel.
I want to open the letter and read what my dad wrote to mum, and open the package to see what a nice present she gave him.
