Adelaide and her family take me to their house, a nice little villa on the outskirts of Brig, another Swiss town, about 112 km away.
The journey took three hours and I made friends with the little boy, his name is Jakob and he is one year younger than me! His parents are Beatrix and Carlo, he is Italian, Adelaide's narito is called Willhelm, he is German.
Willhelm is very fond of me, because I am of German origin, even from my name you can tell that I am not Polish. Linda is a name of German, Italian and Spanish origin.
《You say that sentence, I immediately understand what state you might be from.》
He says, showing me words on a piece of paper.
《Hallo, ich bin sieben Jahre alt und glücklich und zufrieden bei meinen Großeltern. (Hello, I'm seven years old and I'm happy and content with my grandparents.)》
I see him smile and say.
《Austro-German! She will have either an Austrian mother or father and the other or another German.》
He says happily, to Carlo who was listening to a football match in Italian, turns and stares at us and then continues listening to the commentator, totally disinterested.
《So my parents may be in Germany or Austria! 》
I ask him to confirm. He smiles at me, nodding. I smile happily, that I will be able to see and live with my parents one day. But also sad because I'll be fine with my grandparents and Aunt Beatrix and Jakob. I will miss them but I know for sure that I will come back to see them, and I will introduce them to my parents! It'll be a good reunion!
《Come to the table! Lunch is ready! 》
Grandma shouts from the kitchen, I'm so hungry, so I run to the kitchen and sit at my seat waiting for the others to arrive.
Jakob comes running and sits in his seat, happy because tomorrow school has been cancelled. Which is rare, but now normal. Even though it's a neutral country, warplanes still pass over our heads and it doesn't reassure anyone, and today there have been five alerts of planes too close to the ground, German ones. And that's why they make everyone stay indoors. Even the adults.
《How did the search go? 》
《Aunt Beatrix asked me as she sat at Jakob's right side.
《Well Aunt, Grandpa found out through my pronunciation of a German sentence that I'm half Austrian and half German.》
Aunt seems happy to hear this news, and Grandmother also joins her.
《What good news, so tomorrow we'll call the German and Austrian law enforcement agencies to see if anyone has reported the kidnapping. But eat now or it'll get cold! Carlo, come and eat! 》
Grandma tells me happily, and then shouts to be heard in the hall, where Uncle Carlo was still listening to the commentator, completely absorbed in the game.♡•○•♡
