You woke up to the smell of cinnamon and coffee in the morning. At one point during the night, both you and Steve had gotten Tibbs back from a sleepy Bucky and went back down to yours place. Your legs felt wobbly and hurt. You had tried positions last night that were new, and Steve had obviously a huge imagination. It felt great, but your body was weak this morning and deliciously sore. You thought it was well worth it. You opened your eyes and Steve was curled up behind you, holding you close, and there were two fresh cups of coffee on the bedside table.
"How long have you been up?" you asked, your voice croaky.
"Long enough to pack your clothes and bring them upstairs. I left you some things to wear in the closet. I also brought up Tibbs' toys, treats and cat box," he said from behind you and you couldn't help but giggle.
"I thought we were waiting to try the trial living together?" you asked him, turning in his arms and he grinned. He was wearing a white t-shirt, and you looked down to see he was also wearing light blue jeans. He looked perfect, and you could feel your hair was a mess. You were also butt naked under the blankets.
"I didn't want to give you the chance to change your mind," he grinned. "I already texted Tony that I'm off missions next week too, so it's just you and me." He kissed you on the tip of your nose and you giggled.
"What time is it?" you asked him.
"Seven thirteen" he checked his watch. "You have time to sleep. The team is expecting you at breakfast" he reached out and caressed your cheek.
"But then the coffee will be cold" you pointed out.
"I was hoping we would go and read on the swing," he admitted. "Drink our coffees, and act like an old married couple" he grinned.
"I'm getting up" you pulled back the blanket. You liked the thought of it, and would dearly miss your swing for the next week. Steve pulled you back in for a lingering kiss on the lips and he hummed against your lips.
"You look beautiful when you are sleeping," he whispered.
"I sadly didn't get the chance to see you sleeping" you giggled.
"I'll have to sleep in one day" he winked. You giggled again and got out of bed and headed to the bathroom first. Tibbs was purring on the bed behind Steve, still half asleep and looking so very innocent compared to the destruction he could get into. You went to the bathroom and washed up, noting that your makeup, and soaps were all missing except for your hand soap. One of your hair brushes was gone as well. You got out a spare toothbrush from the drawer and your spare toothpaste and brushed your teeth before doing the same for your hair. You walked out to see Steve was making the bed, and you went to the closet to see half of your clothes were gone. You put on pink panties, white bra, white v-neck t-shirt, and jean shorts with your flip flops and came back out. Steve was holding out his sweater for you and you slipped into it.
"Come on dove, I already put the coffee's outside" he told you. "And the book you started before I left," he added.
"Did you also get yourself the morning paper?" you asked a little coyly.
"I have a subscription on my phone" he chuckled. "Come on, dove" he gave you a playful spank and you went outside only to see that Tibbs was already on his leash out there as well. You saw your book and grabbed it and took a seat at the end in your usual spot. Steve sat in the middle and put his arm around your shoulders. You took a sip of your coffee and hummed happily.
"Did you put cinnamon in this?" you asked him.
"Yes, it's good for you," he replied.
"It tastes good!" you admitted, and took another sip before putting it down. "What are you reading?" you asked him as he navigated on his phone.
"Sports section, something light to start the day" he grinned. "The Dodgers won the game yesterday, which is great news," he started reading. You opened your book and started getting lost in your pages. Things felt like they were as they should be all over again. You were a little nervous about going upstairs for the week, but if the days were going to start like this, you had to admit it was pretty good.
"It's too bad we can't bring the swing upstairs to go on your balcony" you said after a while.
"I'll have it brought up. Sam and Bucky will help me" he said with a large smile on his face. "Anything to make you more comfortable," he added.
"No, you don't have to do that" you shook your head, flushing a bit.
"You're not changing my mind. I like this. And with my view, you will love it" he winked.
"What's your view?" you asked him.
"Perfect view of the grounds and the sunrise" he bragged.
"That sounds wonderful," you sighed.
"It will be perfect with you there" he grinned. "Do you think you can pose for some drawings again tonight?" he asked.
"Sure, I don't mind," you giggled. "Don't you want to draw something else for a change?"
"You're my only obsession" he said softly and you looked at him in surprise. "Maybe we can even get Tibbs in the drawing" he said a little more lightly.
"If he can sit still long enough" you giggled again. You went back to reading and just enjoying your coffee and morning cuddles until breakfast. Steve seemed content with his morning newspaper on his phone, and sipping on his coffee from time to time. He only exited the app once to send Bucky and Sam a quick text, but went straight back to it.
"Good morning!" Wanda sang as you and Steve came into the room.
"Hey, you look much better," Nat commented to Steve.
"Good morning," you said a little shyly.
"Hey girl hey" Jillian said from behind you and you turned around and grinned. "Looks like there's two outsiders here today" she said as Sam wrapped his arm around her waist.
"I don't see any outsiders," Bucky shrugged.
"Yes, I only see family. Come, sit" Tony urged the four of you. Jillian blushed at the same time as you and you both took the offered seats from Steve and Sam. "We are having eggs benedict, fruit salad, and hashbrowns" Tony advised.
"Again?" you asked in surprise.
"I wanted to make sure you ate" he shrugged easily.
"Well, I'm not going to complain," you grinned.
"Good," Pepper smiled. "You look much better today," she added.
"Must be something to do with someone finally coming home" Nat wiggled her eyebrows. "I heard about your descent into darkness. Are you doing okay now?" she asked with genuine concern.
"Much better" you nodded.
"Tony, you got my message right?" Steve asked him.
"Yes, your vacation was approved. You have a few years worth banked up, it's about time you are using it" Tony nodded.
"Thank you" Steve sighed happily.
"And we got your message about the swing," Bucky told him. "Big step you two" he grinned.
"It's a trial run," you said quickly.
"For now" Steve added slyly.
"I'm not going to complain. I can come visit Tibbs more often this way" he grinned mischievously. "I'll be there every... single... night" he warned.
"Know your limits, jerk" Steve barked a laugh.
"Yeah, you don't want to walk in on anything" Sam reminded him. "And don't visit me this weekend, Jillian agreed to come spend the weekend"
"I'll be packing while they are moving furniture for you" Jillian told you softly.
"I don't know what I'll be doing," you admitted.
"You'll be in my suite, reading and making sure that Tibbs is comfortable" Steve advised you. "We are taking care of the rest," he assured you.
"Please don't forget to lock up my apartment after you leave it" you asked him.
"Of course, love of my life" Steve grinned happily to himself.
Food got passed around the table and everyone held quiet conversations back and forth. Nothing big, or too in depth. You could tell a majority of the team was still tired from their mission. Jillian seemed almost tranquil in comparison to the black smudges she had under her eyes yesterday before Sam got home. She tried to hide it with makeup, but you could see it. Today she was bright eyed and bushy tailed in comparison, but being mindful of her manners. As soon as you all were done eating, you filled your refillable travel coffee cup for upstairs and followed Steve up the stairs. Jillian gave you a shy wave and left to go get her overnight bag for while she is staying with Sam. Steve led you back upstairs with Tibbs in tow, and showed you that he already unpacked all your clothes and put them away into his spare drawers and hung up your dress clothes. You even spied the sequel to your current duet that you were reading waiting on the bedside table. It was like he had everything planned out. You went back out and sat in the living room while Steve promised that he would come back to you. You laid back on the couch and read between watching the boys bringing your swing up in pieces. They seemed almost jovial as they put it back together again. You could hear them in the living room. Sam was first to leave, but Steve came out to find you once they were done and you saw it really was the perfect spot for your swing. The view from his balcony did look out at the green lush grounds, spotted with gardens here and there and small outbuildings, and a large forest at the end.
"What do you think, dove?" Steve asked you hopefully.
"It's perfect" you cooed.
"I'll be back in a bit and let you two enjoy your balcony" Bucky went down to the next door over a bit of a way down.
"It's almost as perfect as you" Steve pulled you in for a hug and a soft kiss on the forehead where his beard tickled your skin. You nuzzled in and kissed him on the cheek.
"But not as perfect as you," you told him softly.
