Steve, as promised, ordered food and texted Bucky to be by the front door to pick it up. He was instructed to just bring it upstairs, knock once and leave it on the floor. You took a shower to wash off the stickiness of the whipped cream. Steve came in and sat up on the counter to watch you in just his boxers and nothing more. It seemed he wasn't quite done at all. When you finished in the shower he got off the counter to bring you a towel as you stepped out and you giggled at the situation. You toweled off, and he grabbed a second towel so he could do your hair.
"I can do it, Steve" you finally laughed.
"Let me have this," he chuckled. "I could play with your hair all day," he said.
"You can if you want to" you fluttered your eyelashes.
He grabbed a fist full of your hair and pulled your head back so you would have no choice but to look at him and he kissed you lovingly on the lips. "Did you want to go back to the bedroom?" he wiggled his eyebrows at you.
"I need sustenance, and so do you" you giggled.
"Alright dove, just this once" he smiled at you lovingly.
"You just complained I wasn't eating yesterday" you giggled again.
"I'm going to keep feeding you, I'm not worried anymore" Steve grinned. "I'll feed you myself" he winked, letting you go.
"You're sweet, but I can feed myself" you laughed and twirled away.
"I put out your outfit for the morning" he told you, and you arched an eyebrow. "Something for just here in the apartment" he added.
"Oh, you did, did you?" you wrapped yourself in your towel again and headed to the bedroom. You heard a knock at the door and Steve went to the suite door while you stopped at the end of the bed and saw a pair of pink lace panties and one of his white t-shirts. You quickly got dressed and walked out to Steve placing take out containers on the coffee table beside one another.
"Sitting across from you seems too far, I hope you don't mind" he said, but his tone said it wasn't really a choice.
"Smells pretty good" you came closer, swaying your hips.
"Strawberries with Belgian waffles, eggs and bacon" Steve presented to you. "Real butter, and Canadian maple syrup" he added with a wink.
"Perfect! It's exactly what I wanted" you cooed.
"Anything for my princess" he smiled, handing you a napkin with cutlery. You sat down and found yourself to be feeling ravenous. Steve sat beside you and you quickly dug into your food. It was perfect, and tasted like home. Your mom has a Belgian waffle maker at the farmhouse, and she would make this meal on Sundays. Sometimes without the strawberries, depending on if they were on sale at the grocery store, or the plants had enough yield. You both ate in silence, enjoying your food immensely, and after Steve got up and put the garbage in the garbage can, then he took any dirty dishes and put it by his sink before grabbing a large throw blanket and bringing it over to you. He sat beside you again and you covered both of you up and he turned on the television to watch some Sunday morning cartoons. You hadn't done this in years, so you curled into him and just watched the tv with a full belly and a happy outlook.
By lunchtime, you finally went and put on a pair of sweatpants and Steve also got dressed in sweatpants and a t-shirt. The two of you headed downstairs, where you were the last to the table, and Tibbs started making a racket as you got closer. You sat down beside Bucky and he came closer so you could pet him. He soon went back to his food while Steve sat beside you.
"So nice of you two to join us" Tony said, a little sarcastically.
"That's on me. I wanted alone time" Steve said with a devious smirk.
"Well, you got it. No shenanigans during the work week though" Tony warned him. "You're on vacation," he reminded him.
"I'm looking forward to it," Steve chuckled.
"I'm looking forward to combing through the new data" you grinned. "I imagine it's promising," you added.
"I had Friday do an initial scan. There's a lot for you to look at, you'll be busy young lady" Tony told you. "And you are still to come to sit at our table while Steve is on vacation" he paused for a moment. "Jillian, we would also love to have you come."
"Oh thank you, that's very kind. I'll be here if Sam is on base" she promised.
"I have my mission details, I'm home almost every day" Sam grinned. "I'll even make it to my hair appointment" he winked at her.
"How is the trial run going so far?" Wanda asked out loud instead of inside your head.
"Really well, I'm surprised. There's been a lot of relaxation to be honest" you admitted honestly.
"Well, Stevie can't let out his crazy yet" Bucky chuckled. Steve looked at him with a glare and then winked at you. You immediately knew he had let out a bit of his kind of crazy already. The camera's, the dark Steve, the dominant Steve. You loved all sides of him, and enjoyed them. Steve's hand went to your thigh, and squeezed a little before resting there.
"I for one missed your company this morning. But I suppose we have to share your company once in a while," Loki smiled kindly.
"Steve keeps finding a reason to keep you away from us. Random suppers off the compound lands, and today a breakfast in bed. Brings me back to when Bruce and I started dating" Nat said whimsically.
"We still do that stuff" Bruce flushed. "Just not as often I guess," he frowned.
"Which means?" Nat prompted him.
"We will be missing supper" Bruce smiled at her lovingly. "Anything for my gingersnap" he added in a soft whisper.
"I'm also taking Jillian out for supper" Sam announced. "I want to take her out on the town before she's back to work."
"You mean before you're back to work and too busy" Jillian giggled.
"I'm never too busy for you" Sam shot back. "You're my girl" he winked.
"We will see about that," she giggled.
"You see Steve? You're making all of us look bad" Tony complained.
"I see jewelry in my future," Pepper joked.
"That's not a bad idea" Tony mused.
"Tony," she laughed. "I have enough"
"Not enough, my beautiful wife" he smiled at her. Food went around the table and everyone ate quickly, but not before Tibbs got into some of the food in the center of the table. Bucky was quicker than you were at getting the masked bandit and giving him another portion of his food choice on his plate. Once he was done he came to you and curled up on your lap since you were done eating. Steve didn't take long to finish, and he swept you off of your chair like he was carrying a new bride so as not to disturb Tibbs and he started making his way back upstairs.
"Hold on Romeo, you promised your girl to show her your paintings. Also Sam and Jillian are coming over on the balcony so we can all sit together for a bit" Bucky got up and told Steve as he was following him.
"Fine, but you're paying for this later" Steve bit out, and you weren't so sure he was talking to Bucky when he said it.
"As long as there's silk ties included" you whispered to Steve.
"You're reading my mind, dove," he chuckled darkly. He took the stairs two steps at a time and once he got to the top he went to Bucky's door who was right beside him. Bucky just opened the door and Steve walked in. He gave you time to grab Tibbs and secure him in your arms before he set you gently on your feet. Bucky let you look around curiously. The room was sparsely decorated save for a few bookshelves, the normal furniture, and a few paintings and pictures on the walls. There was a cat tree and everything a cat could dream of having in his living room as well. Alpine was up on his cat tree like a king and Bucky went straight to him. The cat jumped from the tree to his metal arm and got up on his shoulder. The first painting you looked at looked like it was a picture from the 1940's in Brooklyn. The second painting was of a woman who looked a bit like Bucky. Bucky grinned looking at it.
"That's my sister Rebecca. She died before I got my head straightened out. That painting looks just like her the last time I saw her" he told you proudly. "Stevie did it from a photograph within a few days after I said I really missed her."
"That's extraordinary" you said, studying the painting. She looked so kind. The next painting was of the grounds in autumn, and you smiled at it. It seemed to bring the grounds to life. Bucky led you to his spare room where it had a desk, chair, bed, and it was filled with paintings stacked against each other against the walls, and even on the bed.
"Someone's been busy" you giggled, starting to look through the stacks of paintings. There were some of each of the team members, and it looked just like them. You could tell some of the paintings were memories from before he went into the ice, and some from after. You found one of Peggy Carter, and it looked sad. Steve looked a little sad looking at it. "The first love always hurts the worst," you said softly.
"I did that shortly after I came to the compound, instead of the apartment in Brooklyn. I honestly thought Bucky threw it out like I asked a few years ago" Steve admitted.
"I think he made the right choice," you said, moving on. You didn't want to dwell on it. She knew him then, but you know him now. And you loved the man he had become. You knew she was his past, but you were his present, and hoped to be his future. You found a watercolor painting hidden and pulled it out. It was you the first time you met Steve with a large smile on your face and your hair down. It was just a bust painting, but it had caught you off guard to find it.
"He did that the second night after he met you. He said he wanted an excuse to look at you. Once you moved in, he put it in storage" Bucky ratted Steve out, who gave him a playful punch in retaliation.
"It's beautiful," you said with flushed cheeks.
"It doesn't do you justice" Steve said softly. "That's why I want to paint you again, and this time, I'll get it right" he vowed.
