Chapter 58

You sent off the mission information to everyone's emails once you were done for the day. Tony seemed impressed, having reviewed it before you even sent it off.
"Looks great kiddo, you can have tomorrow off and head back home early" he told you with a pat on the back.
"Really Tony?!" you exclaimed in surprise.
"You put in a lot of extra hours all the time. Consider it a thank you. But next week, don't forget, you're headed to my Malibu mansion with the Iron Legion to protect you all there. I'm also sending Jillian since it's a few day mission. Shield will be guarding the compound, except those out on the mission with us, so everyone is safeguarded. We will be picking you all up before we head home as well" Tony advised.
"Why don't we stay here if it's so safe?" you asked him.
"Because Steve would never forgive me if I didn't send you off some where's just a little safer" he shrugged as though that was common knowledge.
"I'll need the same computer set up there, so I can monitor from the mansion. I also need a safe place to bring Tibbs and Molly," you said without missing a beat.
"Who's Molly?" Tony seemed surprised.
"My kitty. That's why we are going to Canada in the first place" you gave a large smile.
"I'll have them put in two cat boxes and a cat tree. I've also sent a box of the dehydrated chicken for Tibbs and some new puzzles for him. It should be arriving on Tuesday morning, so he doesn't get bored" Tony said with a small smile on his face.
"Thank you Tony" you squealed a little. "You spoil me," you told him.
"I just don't want you to over do it. If you start to get tired, make sure you go take some rest. Happy knows enough about computers to be able to help out if you need a break. We will have sensors in the suits so you know our health stats at all times. I input them into the suits on a go forward basis. Since Wanda, Pietro and Peter are out of school for the summer you'll get to see them in action too. I'll have my live feed sent to your computer as well, so you'll have plenty to see and do" Tony told you. "Jillian, Pepper, and Happy I'm sure will help take care of your pets as well, so there's nothing to worry about there."
"Thank you so much" You gave in and gave Tony a hug, that he seemed surprised at. You stood back and had a few tears in your eyes. "You're always thinking of me" you sniffled.
"You're part of this family, of course I am" he chuckled. "Now go let Steve know the good news" he said.
"I'll just power down" you said, restarting your computer and then locking everything up in your drawers. You figured on Monday you would come down and get your noise cancelling headphones so you could use them in Malibu. You turned and saw that Bruce was cuddling Tibbs and Tibbs was passed out in his arms. You couldn't help but smile at him.
"It was just until you are done" Bruce said, handing you Tibbs who was purring loudly in his sleep. You took him from Bruce and headed to the office door where Tony opened the door for you. You could smell supper and licked your lips at the thought of eating, but you had a mission at the moment. Feeling a little tired, you called Steve with your free hand.

'Hey dove," Steve picked up after the first ring.
"Hi sweetie, I was wondering if you were coming downstairs for supper. Tibbs is asleep, and I'm starving" you told him.
"I'll be there in a jiffy," Steve chuckled. "I love you" he said before hanging up. You took a moment to take a selfie with Tibbs and sent it to Eric, your brother. He sent back a selfie with Molly on his shoulder licking his face. He had one of his blue eyes closed, and he looked like he had been working hard all day on account of the dirt on him. He was outside in his rocking chair, and had a big smile on his face.
"Can't wait to see you tomorrow, little sister" came his text. You put a heart on it, thinking he had no idea how excited you were to come home. You knew your brother and father would likely be working in the fields and your mother would be working with the animals. At least this way you could help when you got there.

You only had to wait a few minutes and Steve was in front of you. He leaned in carefully and kissed you softly on the lips before pulling away so as to not disturb Tibbs.
"You look beautiful as always" Steve smirked and pulled your hair out of its pony tail.
"And you're handsome as always," you giggled. "Guess what?" you asked him, almost vibrating in excitement.
"What?" he asked.
"Tony gave me tomorrow off, so we can leave in the morning." You put your hand on his chest and he took your hand and kissed the back of your hand, the tips of your fingers, then the palm of your hand before kissing your inner wrist where your pulse was going rapidly.
"That's fantastic news. We will leave right after breakfast and make our way there. I'll bring some snacks for you, and maybe do a Starbucks order in the morning for you to have a treat while we are on our way" Steve said adoringly.
"How did I get so lucky?" you asked him, feeling like you were almost overwhelmed with how much you love him.

"I ask myself the same thing every day" he chuckled.
"Hey lovebirds" Bucky got off the elevator with Sam.
"What took you so long?" Steve teased.
"I've never seen someone jump down the stairs from the second floor in three jumps and land running like that before" Sam said as though he was impressed.
"Steve! What if you got hurt?" you demanded.
"It was a risk I was willing to take, you asked me to come down" Steve shrugged, before giving Sam a soft glare.
"Next time, take your time. Stairs can be dangerous" you sassed.
"Alright dove, I promise" Steve kissed you on top of your head.
"Come on, let's grab some grub" Bucky announced. "We both finished packing, and Sam let out a small detail you might find interesting. You're getting a new neighbour"
"We are?" you asked in surprise.
"Jilly-bean is moving in with me" Sam said with his chest puffed out.
"Oh, that's the surprise she had for me!" you said. "She texted me a few days ago, but she's been radio silent except to tell me she was bringing my books back to me" you danced around in excitement, waking up Tibbs who made a slight racket. You immediately stopped and he curled up more around your neck. "I'm so happy for you Sam" you told him honestly. "And her... dang. I can't believe I missed out on so much" you sighed.
"That happens when you keep locking yourself in either your bedroom or the office" Bucky teased.
"That's true, I have been doing a lot of that," you acknowledged.
"Come on, I heard it's both chicken and steak burritos tonight, with Caesar salad. We also have a multiberry cheesecake for dessert" Sam told you.
"Oh dang..." you said, and you were already salivating. It sounded really good. Especially dessert.

You ate as much as you could and when dessert came out you were nearly jumping in your chair. Steve gave you two portions and you dug right in. Conversation had been going around the table, mainly light conversation. Your mind was on food, and then the trip tomorrow. You wanted badly for it to be tomorrow already, but you knew that patience is a virtue. You hummed and danced as you ate and Steve chuckled, putting one hand on your thigh. He gave a small squeeze and you flexed your thighs under his hand. You figured you could do with a work out tonight, but then again, your brother would probably be traumatized since he likes delving in peoples heads so much.
It would serve him right though.

"Are you good, dove?" Steve asked as soon as you finished.
"I'm very full and in need of a work out" you winked at him and he broke out into a grin. Bucky and Sam both cleared their throats and Steve looked pained.
"Did you want to go swimming?" Steve asked you and you pouted.
"Idiot" Loki murmured, which made you giggle.
"Maybe a walk?" Bucky suggested.
"Don't make me swat you, you two shouldn't have teased him" Wanda said with a glare.
"I think I'll go for a walk with Tibbs" you said getting up.
"You're not going without me dove," Steve got up as well. You went to put your dishes away and shook your head at him. You wanted to be alone, to hopefully get rid of some of the sexual frustration that you had built up.
"I'm not taking no as an answer" Steve sighed, putting his dishes away as well.
"Thank you for the meal" you said as you picked up Tibbs and started heading upstairs to get Tibbs' leash.
As soon as you got upstairs, you started getting Tibbs' leash when the door closed behind you and Steve stood there looking at you darkly.
"What is it?" you asked with a sigh.
"If my baby wants to have a marathon night, I'm not taking that away from her" Steve said.
"What do you mean?" you asked, a hopeful look in your eye.
"The boys can tease me all they want, but when it comes to you, they are wrong. You deserve to be worshipped and that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to the bedroom and I'm going to clean off the bed. Then I'm getting out the belts and I'm tying you down to the bed and we are going to stay in bed until morning" Steve said, heading to the bedroom.
"I thought you didn't want to" you said, looking at him confused.
"The guys said you needed a break, clearly you don't. So go wash the make up off your face and get ready, because tonight, you'll be begging me to stop" Steve said with a glint in his eye. If you were going to be honest with yourself, you were excited to see how this was going to turn out.
