Steve brought out a pillow and a blanket for you to lay on your swing, and put Tibbs on his leash. He even turned on some of your favorite music and set up his easel to the side while you laid on the swing, soaking up the sun and reading. He was busy sketching, and you were being careful not to move.
"How's the book?" Steve asked you, prompting conversation.
"It was so good. He pulled a Steve and bought her all the books on her wishlist" you giggled.
"What else did he do?" he looked intrigued since you were so captivated by the pages.
"He broke into her house and made friends with her cat" you looked over the top of the book at him. "Set up cameras all over the place. He also killed her date, and kidnapped her so she would go on a vacation" you told him and he hummed.
"Do you want to be kidnapped?" he asked curiously.
"No," you laughed. "It's a book. But now I finished it and I want to read the second one."
"What's stopping you?" he asked.
"I don't want to mess up your drawing" you batted your eyes innocently.
"One second" he got up and walked towards you. He leaned down and gave you a soft kiss on the lips and took your book. He went back inside and grabbed the sequel to the duet and brought it back to you and stole another kiss. "Always thinking of me, dove," he chuckled.
"Tell me, what did you really wish for when we were outside stargazing?" you asked him curiously.
"I still can't tell you that," he smiled softly. "But my wishes all surround you."
"Mine surround you as well" you sighed, opening your second book. Tibbs jumped up onto the swing and curled up behind your legs, nuzzling in like a cat.
"He's going to be lost without all of your attention when Molly gets here" Steve commented.
"He really likes cats actually, he loved Molly" you continued trying not to move. "The true test is when I get a dog" you added with a smirk.
"You want a dog too?" he asked, a little surprised.
"A golden retriever," you nodded.
"A golden retriever?" he echoed.
"Yes, they are supposed to be very good family dogs," you hinted. "But we would need a big house for them and lots of land for them to run around, like the one you dreamed up."
"I love that you are planning the future with me in it, dove," he grinned. "I think a dog is the perfect part of the plan," he added.
Your phone dinged a few times with incoming text messages, but you figured it would either be your family or Jillian, since everyone else was right here with you.
"Aren't you going to check it?" Steve asked after a few minutes.
"And ruin your drawing?" you asked coyly.
"I'll take a break and go get us some more coffee" he chuckled and you sat up. Tibbs made a slight racket, but moved slightly for you to get more comfortable. You picked up your phone and saw it was from Eric. It was a few pictures, and you giggled while opening each of them. The first one was of Molly in your childhood bedroom, the second a crate for the smaller animals, the third a UPS sticker. You burst out laughing at the last one, knowing that he wouldn't do that.
"What is it, dove?" Steve came back out.
"Just Eric, he's saying he's shipping Molly. She's in my bedroom again" you slowed to a giggle.
"Does UPS even ship animals?" he asked, looking down at your phone and seeing the three pictures.
"No, I double checked. Only if it's one day delivery, and even then you need to have a contract with them for shipping live animals. We don't deal with livestock much at home. It's mainly giving animals a place to live out their lives, especially if they were injured or just getting old. We don't like to see an animal get put down just because they can't do the same things they used to" you explained. "But I don't think Eric's looked it up" you giggled again. "He's in for a surprise," you grinned.
"So the only way to get her here is if someone back home brings her, or you go up and get her," Steve put it together.
"Basically," you nodded.
"Did you want to go get her?" Steve asked, seeming to be planning something.
"Well yes, but I can wait until Christmas" you smiled.
"Why don't we take one of the jets and just go for a night?" he offered.
"We can't do that" you gasped.
"You're forgetting I'm Captain America. I can do a lot of things" he grinned.
"Alright Captain, maybe one weekend. But I just want a nice weekend with my boyfriend. Leave the rank at work" you grabbed him from the front of his shirt and pulled him in for a kiss.
"Alright, love of my life, not this weekend" he consented. "But maybe soon?" he asked.
"Maybe," you kissed the tip of his nose.
"Awww, you two are so cute" Bucky said from the next balcony over. He had Alpine in his arms, and grinning like a fool. "For the record, even I thought that was romantic. Willing to take a private jet to go get you your cat."
"It is romantic, but I can still wait," you giggled. "What are you doing over there?" you asked.
"Get over here, ya jerk. I just finished brewing some coffee" Steve beckoned him over.
"You had me at coffee" Bucky held Alpine tight as he walked over the small barrier between the two balconies, and he took a seat at the four seater table that looked well loved. There were a few beer caps on top, and you knew this was possibly a usual hangout for them.
"I'll go get it" Steve quickly left and you got up. Tibbs scurried off of the swing and made his way to Bucky who helped him up and held Alpine with one arm and TIbbs with the other. You walked over to the easel and took a look at the drawing that Steve was working on. Your whole figure and face almost looked lifelike if they weren't in graphite. You saw he had started working on adding Tibbs to the drawing, but hadn't finished quite yet.
"What do you think?" Bucky asked.
"It's amazing," you sighed happily.
"Yeah, he's pretty talented," Bucky admitted. You should see his paintings" he grinned. "I've got most of them in my apartment" he gestured towards his balcony door.
"I'd love to see them" you gave a large smile.
"Just get permission from our good old Captain America," he chuckled.
"Maybe I will" you smirked and turned in time to see Steve coming out again with three cups of coffee. "Can I see your paintings?" you asked him as soon as he stopped by the table. He set down the three cups and seemed to hesitate for a moment.
"Can you be in one, one day?" he asked.
"What do you mean?" you giggled.
"Will you pose for a painting?" he smirked.
"Do I get to see the paintings?" you asked.
"Are you going to pose?" he bantered back.
"Yes" you nodded.
"Then yes, but I want to be there" he consented and held out a hand. You reached for his hand and you both shook on it. He held fast to your hand when you were done, and he brought it up to his lips and he kissed the back. You felt yourself blush, and you smiled at him. When he finally released your hand you went and sat down beside Bucky, closest to Tibbs and took a sip. Steve sat on the other side of you, and looked down at his phone for a moment.
"So what are you kids up to the rest of the day?" Bucky asked.
"Oh, I'm coming to your place to see paintings" you smirked.
"We are just staying in today" Steve smiled, looking up temporarily. "Dove, can you add me on Facebook?" he asked.
"Sure, I don't post much, just a warning" you nodded.
"Oh, me too!" Bucky handed you Tibbs and took out his phone while Alpine climbed up on his shoulder.
"You're just hoping to find Emily's profile" you giggled.
"Maybe, but we are friends so I want to see" Bucky defended himself. You held Tibbs with one arm while you went into your facebook account and accepted a friend request from Steve, Bucky, Jillian, Sam, Wanda and Loki. It has been well over a month since you last logged in. You took a selfie of you and Tibbs and posted the picture with the saying "Living my best life" to it.
"Want to take that again?" Steve asked you, and you giggled.
"I'm not even wearing makeup," you said.
"I like you just as much without it," he shrugged. You went to take another selfie and Tibbs was looking at the camera perfectly when Steve photobombed you and leaned in with his cheek against yours with a large smile on his face. You took the picture and put it as your profile picture. You also sent it to Steve via text message so he had a copy of it. You saw him go in and change it to his profile picture as well. You couldn't help but giggle. Your mom was the first one to go in and hit a heart on the picture.
"Now there won't be any doubts about if you are really dating Steve or not," Bucky grinned.
"Wait for it" Steve was still on his phone. He updated his relationship status to being in a relationship with you. You blushed but accepted it and it was advertised across both your profiles.
"Is that what you were looking for?" you asked Steve with a giggle.
"Yes, I am proud of us and want to have you on my profile too" Steve grinned.
"You still have to survive my family," you warned him.
"Gladly, tell me when and where" Steve kissed you cheek and you sighed happily, thinking life couldn't get much better than this. You went back to drinking your coffee and just enjoying the peace of the morning when Bucky tsked and you looked at him curiously.
"It's almost lunch time," he explained.
"Time to head to the cafeteria" you sighed.
"No, you and Jillian are sitting with us for the weekend, dove. That was never an option" Steve told you.
