Five days.... It had been five days since you had started going to the Banff National Park to watch for your family, or to see the team. You kept leaving Jillian, Pepper and Happy at the hotel, and bringing convenience store food to eat while you waited. You had brought a few books as well, and thankfully you brought two a day because you had made it through them quickly. The foreboding feeling had only gotten worse. You hadn't logged into your computer for days, because you didn't want to accidentally give your location, after already giving it to Tony.
Your butt was sore and you were freezing cold right now. Snow had started early in Alberta and yet, here you were. Refusing to give up. You decided maybe your brother decided to drive the distance, likely in a van. The only ones in the family besides Emily, your mom and your brother was Eden, Emily's older sister. The rest didn't have abilities since your uncle had passed away shortly after Emily's birth. You hoped beyond hope that they would get there soon. It's a long drive, but as long as everyone takes turns, they should be arriving shortly, or at least you hoped so. You didn't know if Eden and Emily's mom Jane would be coming.
Around lunch time you saw a black van pull into the parking lot, but didn't think much of it. You went back to your book, eyeing the van once in a while for someone to get out. You looked down at your book again, when you heard car doors opening and a sliding door open. You looked up sharply this time. Out came five armed men and they had their guns set on you. You blanched for a moment before instinct kicked in. You grabbed your purse and ran into the park itself. They were closed for the season, so getting past the barrier was easy. You heard a few gun shots, but you didn't care. You ran like a maniac, taking off the paths and going into the woods and praying that they wouldn't find you. Your worry went back to everyone back at the hotel and your family now that the location was compromised.
You could see your breath as it came out in huffs as you ran as fast as you could. You chanced a look over your shoulder and didn't see them in the woods with you, it looked like they were still out on the pathway. You used your ability and flew up into the highest tree you could find and settled on a branch, then used your ability to make it look like you had kept running in the lightly fallen snow. Now you had to worry about how to get back, and get a message to your family to not come here. You heard some yelling and suddenly the five men in black came through the woods with their guns out and ready to shoot. You shielded yourself in a bubble, hoping they didn't also have a chainsaw or an axe. You highly doubted it, but you'd never doubt the possibility. They moved past you, and you let out a soft sigh of relief.
Birds flew up into the sky, disturbed by something in the parking lot but beyond the beating of your rapid heartbeat in your ears, you couldn't hear much else. You were terrified. This was a nightmare you had not even thought of in the past. You always thought you were safe enough. How someone found out, you would never know, unless you used invasive procedures.
"Y/N!" you heard Eric yelling. You looked to where the Hydra agents had gone, and saw they were making a sweep pack towards your direction. You had no choice but to give your location.
"Eric! RUN!" you screamed. Guns started pointing at you, and you used your bubble to go thicker and stronger. Two Hydra agents went in the direction of your brother. "They're coming!!" you screeched in worry for your family.
"No one is going to help you little bird" one of the Hydra agents chuckled looking up at you. They shot up at you and almost hit you and you jumped and held onto the branch more tightly. You threw your power orbs at them, hitting two of the three, and threw another power orb to get the third. They all fell, and looked knocked out. You floated down off of the tree and started running after the other two Hydra agents.
The sound of your shoes on the light power of snow crunched as you ran. You ignored the pain in your chest and in your legs. There was nothing more important than getting to your family. You would get them, get the girls and Happy and make a run for it. You didn't know how Hydra had found you. Unless they were tracking bank accounts of your family. They wouldn't likely think of using cash to get everywhere, and they didn't have the ability to use someone else's credit card, or a dummy account.
