Chapter 74

A knock came at your door, and you looked through the peep hole to see Pepper, Happy, and Jillian standing there with their suitcases and Libby. The cats and Tibbs were in your room, already in their crates. You had heard a noise outside, and didn't know if it was good news or bad news. You quickly let them in. They stopped short seeing a man your age standing behind you with short dark hair and brown eyes and clear rugged good looks.
"This is my twin brother, Eric" you introduced. "Eric, this is Jillian, Pepper, and Happy Hogan."
"Pleasure to meet you" he tipped his baseball cap to them.
"Good looks clearly run in the family" Jillian giggled. "I'm her bestie" she said, holding out her hand and he shook it.
"Likewise with the Avengers compound" Eric grinned.
"Knock it off, she's taken" you grumbled.
"All the good ones are," Eric murmured to you.
"I took LIbby out for a walk shortly before you texted us. We didn't know there was danger" Happy advised.
"My family is at the other hotel, I just hope they are okay" you said and Eric wrapped his arms around you, trying to comfort you.
"So are you a witch too?" Jillian asked Eric, whose eyebrows rose in surprise.
"She caught me using my ability to stop from falling down the stairs and hurting the babies," you explained.
"Yes, and no, I'm not gay" Eric smirked. "I do in fact run a farm so yes, I do have a tan."
"He doesn't stay out of people's heads the way I do," you explained. "I think consent is important" you finished.
"Consent is sexy" Jillian smirked at you and winked. "So that's why you didn't know of Steve's crush on you."
"Exactly" you nodded.
"Girl, I could see it a mile away" she told you.
"We all could," Pepper giggled.
"She's always been blind to what's in front of her," Eric grinned.
"Don't you start," you warned him.
"We got that impression" Happy chuckled. Even though the conversation was light, the mood in the room was almost drowning in worry and sorrow. Worry that the team wouldn't make it on time, worry about your family... worry about the future. It was so much, and almost too much at the same time.

"Oh!" you exclaimed at a powerful kick and Eric's hand went to your stomach to feel the next kick.
"Those are quite the little miracles in there" he murmured to you. "And congratulations ladies," he added to Pepper and Jillian who said soft thank yous.
A loud pounding came at the door and Happy took his gun out and looked through the peephole, taking on the protection of the four of you to heart. His body relaxed and he opened the door. Steve stood there in his Captain America suit, looking worse for wear, and looking like he had been to war and back all over again. He came in the room and dropped his shield only to take you from your brother's arms and he kissed you hard on the lips, his tongue diving in and demanding attention. He wrapped his strong arms around you and just held you for a minute, even after the kiss was over.
"Where's your stuff?" he asked softly and you pointed to the side where your luggage and purse was. He grabbed it, picked up his shield and held out his hand to you. You took his hand and he started leading you out. "Come on you guys, we don't know how much time we have" he said. You took Libby's leash, while Eric took the crates with the cats and Tibbs, and the others brought their luggage. He took you to the elevator, worried about taking the stairs and going too fast for you. It was smooth sailing from there. You went through the lobby and headed outside to the jet where there were a few onlookers surprised to see the Avengers on their side of the border.
"JIllian!" Sam ran out the moment he saw her.
"Pepper!" Tony came running out too. They both grabbed their respective women and held them close.
"Ooh, so this is Eric" Wanda came out and shook his hand. "This is Y/N's twin brother" she introduced to the team. "You already know our names," she chuckled. "Come in please" she gestured to the jet. Eric didn't have to be told twice while Steve was already getting you set down in a seat and buckled in. Thankfully the jet is big enough to handle twice the size of the team.
"You must have been eating a lot of good food, you're filling out beautifully" Sam said as he carried Jillian's luggage. You wanted to smack him.
"Dude, she's pregnant" Eric said and Sam dropped the luggage and turned to look at Jillian in surprise.
"Baby? Is that true?" he asked in surprise.
"Two and a half months," Jillian said, biting her bottom lip nervously. He wrapped his arms around her and his lips crashed against hers. He stood back with a huge grin on his face.
"I'm going to be a daddy!" he said with tears in his eyes, and everyone congratulated him.
"I too am going to be a father, she's three and a half months" Tony lifted Pepper's arm and everyone cheered.
"As much as I love this, those Hydra agents won't be down for long. We gotta go" Wanda reminded everyone. The jet flew not too far away to a small motel and landed in the parking lot.
"What about my van?" Eric asked after a stunned silence.
"We will find a way to take care of it," Tony assured him. Eric nodded, unsure of himself. Bucky got out along with Steve and went knocking on the motel room doors. Emily cried out when she saw Bucky at her door and jumped on him, wrapping herself around him. He held her easily and they kissed softly. There was no mistaking the love they have for one another. Steve had gotten your parent's room and helped them with their stuff and Erics. Out came your aunt Jane, and cousin Eden who looked similar to Emily only taller.
"Ooohh.... Dibbs" Loki said as he saw Eden come towards the jet.
"She's a witch too," Eric rolled his eyes.
"Ah good, she knows my intent" Loki smirked, and put on his charm as Eden came in. Her long dark locks behind her. She gave a ghost of a smile and set her luggage to the side.
"Thank you for coming for us" Franny said and Luke put his arm around her. "Oh sweetie, just look at you" your mom said coming towards you. Aunt Jane came in and looked a bit bashful about being on the Avengers jet.
"Where are you taking us?" Luke asked after a beat.
"Somewhere safe, that's all I'll say for now" Tony said, sending a text to Clint on coordinates of where he wanted to go.

A Hydra van came into the parking lot and Clint quickly closed up the back while everyone scrambled to their seats at the sound of shooting bullets. Clint took off quickly and you held Steve's hand tightly.
"Just in the nick of time" you rubbed your belly with your other hand.
"I'm here now, and I won't be leaving your side for a very long time" Steve reassured you. You hummed, but really, you knew with work he would have to go.
"He's not lying," Eric said from the other side of you, with a grin on his face.
"He's never lied to me before thankfully, just omitted the truth" you smirked and Steve leaned in and kissed you on the temple.

"You should have told us you were at the front of the park," Steve said softly.
"I didn't think to. The only landing spot I could think of was the parking lot," you responded just as soft.
"I was so scared they had you," he kissed the side of your head again.

"They almost did" Eric told him and you glared. "She ran from them and hid in a tree. They were shooting at her, then she threw her power orbs at them and knocked three out, leaving me with the last two" Eric ratted you out. Steve started looking you all over for injuries but you only had a few scratches from the branches.
"I'm fine" you tried to reassure him.

"Im doing a full body check when we land" Steve said with a no nonsense tone.
"Alright, but all you're going to find is more stretch marks and a bigger belly" you warned.
"We can all see that," Eric chuckled. "The belly at least," he said.
"There's triplets in there" you say, taking your purse out and pulling out all the pictures from the ultrasounds you had and handing them to Steve. "I didn't forget you, and I don't know what we are having yet. We will find out when I see a doctor again" you advised.
"That's as soon as we land, all three of you are getting checked out," Tony said

"We are going back to the compound, aren't we?" you deadpanned.
"You nailed it, and you didn't even have to read my mind" he smirked.
"At least there's lots of rooms" you shrugged. You noticed Loki was giving Eden looks of longing, but she was keeping her head down shyly. Bucky had his arm around Emily and she was cuddled into him, not looking scared at all. None of you really were. What better place to be than with the Avengers if HYDRA is trying to track you down.

"I was wondering, how do you feel about a spring wedding?" Steve asked you.
"I don't know, you still haven't asked me" you said in response.
"Answer the question, dove," he gave a soft order.
"I'll likely be giving birth in the beginning of spring, so I might not be up for it" you told him and he hummed.
"How about a winter one then?" he countered.
"I always wanted something outdoors" you blushed.
"Good, then a white cloak would look beautiful on you" Steve grinned, tightening his hold on your hand. You leaned against him and hummed softly. You were dying to know when he planned on popping the question finally.
