Chapter 77
Saturday March 18th
Lennon's POVTonight is unfortunately the last night that we have with Harry's mom here before she flies back home to England. It's been nice having her around the last couple days, although I am sad I didn't get to spend as much as time with her as everyone else did because of work. Regardless, I know that Harry is overjoyed she made it down here in the first place, and I could see the happiness that it brought him this week.
Theo also has had a great time from what I've heard and seen. Theo's childhood so far has really lacked in grandparents from my side of the family. Sure, he spent time with my dad every once in a while, but it wasn't much and we all know how my mom feels about him for some ridiculous reason. Because of that, it's been nice to see Theo interact with a grandmother who genuinely cares about him and doesn't think down on him for his personality.
I've noticed he seems to be getting better at clicking with people. This week he has stuck to her side as far as I'm concerned, and I love that he's getting time with her. He talks her ear off about the things he loves, he includes her when he wants to show Harry or I something, and last night he was so excited to bring her along to his dance class.
It's been so good for him to loosen up recently and I am so proud of him. Whenever I see him trying new things or interacting, it just reminds me of how large of an impact that Harry has had on our life. I strongly believe that Harry being here has led to Theo's newfound openness to people, and I love it.
"Grandma!" Theo and I left his room together, but he ran off over to her at the couch without me. I was helping him get ready for dinner, and he was eager to show off his shirt that had a cute saying about grandmas on it.
"Babe, where are the twin's water cups from earlier?" Harry asked me. "I'm gonna refill them before we leave"
"Oh uh" I thought for a moment. "I think I left them in the nursery"
"Alright" I heard him respond and start to head this direction. I heard the quiet sound of Delia's hands connecting with the floor, trying to quickly crawl around the kitchen counter to follow him, and then the sound of her crying when she wasn't catching up quick enough. "Lia I'll be right back"
Delia evidently did not like the fact that Harry didn't rush over and protect her from the 5 seconds that she'll be away from him, which I expected. However, I didn't expect her to haul off and smack Atticus for no reason since she was upset.
"Lia no" I gasped, going over to them where Atticus was also now crying. I squatted down on the floor in front of them and picked up Atticus to comfort him. "Lia, that's not nice baby. We can't hit brother when you're upset"
"Oh jeez" Harry emerged from their nursery, two water cups in hand, so at least he was able to find them. "Lia look I'm right here, I told you I'd be right back"
He scooped her up in his arms which stopped her crying, but Atticus was still going. Both of them were a little grumpy right now, we missed their nap today because we were out having a family day before Anne had to leave, and it was at the twin's expense. It was probably a bad idea to load them up and take them to a restaurant, but hopefully when they have food in front of them, it will all be okay.
"Mommy I'm hungry, can we go now?" Theo whined.
"We're going right now Theo. Harry are we ready?" I asked him exasperated and sort of annoyed. I wasn't even mad at him, but I was just flustered since all 3 kids have been grumps for the last little while.
"Did I do something?" He turned back and looked at me, and I immediately felt bad for the not so subtle annoyance in my last sentence.
I sighed, bouncing Atti on my side. "No, no I'm sorry. You're fine"
