THE BRUNETTE THROWS HERSELF AT HER SISTER'S bed, it was their last day in Massachusetts before they head back to Iowa; all their friends are in the backyard with her family decorating the place for their last meal together. The blonde girl entered her bedroom and looked at the girl who was at her bed and sat down at her desk.
A couple of silent minutes passed, and Brooklyn entered the bedroom and lay down in the bed too with Sterling. They were scrolling through their phones until the brunette looked at her sister.
"Why are you so mad about what happened between Caroline and I?" Alessia looked at Sterling with a confused expression. She wasn't mad, but she liked Caroline.
"I'm not mad. I just think that Caroline was the best thing that ever happened to you. She is nice, and I hate seeing her at the graduation party so down; she didn't deserve that." She responded, and Brooklyn lowered the phone from her face to see her sisters.
Sterling frowned. "I know she didn't deserve that, and I feel bad that I left her just like that that day," she said. It was true; she thinks about that day every time she feels sorry for Harvey.
The blonde rolled her eyes. "Yeah, she stayed that night after all that shit because she loves us and she cares about us; she didn't think a second of leaving us. She still takes the time to reach out to me, she still asks me how I am doing. That speaks a lot of her." The upset Coss replied and pushed herself with the wheelchair of the desk to get to the bed.
"Kate does that too! She loves you too," Sterling said. Clearly Alessia became closer to Harvey than to Martin. It was okay; it's valid.
Alessia looked at Brooklyn; the older sister was listening to all the conversation. "I know! I'm not saying that she doesn't. The blonde became more exalted.
"Okay, okay, enough. That's enough. Alessia, Sterling already apologized to Caroline for that and she forgave her. End of story. Yeah, Sterling fucked up, she's sorry for that. Let's move on." The brunette raised her voice.
Sterling was feeling attacked for her sister; she clearly hurt Harvey's feelings when they broke up, but she has apologized to her hundreds of times, and Harvey forgave her hundreds of times.
"It hurts me because you're now hurting Kate; she asked me yesterday about your comment on Mom's post. She's trying so hard to get closer to you, and the only thing you're doing is pushing her away!" Last night the tall woman asked Sterling when they were about to fall asleep if she was doing something wrong. She only wanted to get closer to Sterling's family.
Alessia's face changed when she heard that; she didn't mean to make Kate feel uncomfortable or anything. She likes her; she treats her sister right, and she loves her, but her closeness to Harvey is causing her to be away from Kate.
Footsteps heard coming down the hallway made them end their conversation. The curly-haired girl with her bigger belly peeked from the door. "Girls, the food is ready. Let's go," Kayliah said. The girls stood up and stepped out of Alessia's room.
Sterling was the last to leave the room, and Kay saw her wiping a tear away before it hit her cheek. "What's wrong?" She asked her sister-in-law. But she didn't want to make this little misunderstanding bigger.
"Nothing, we were playing, and I cried of laughter," she said.
Kayliah wasn't dumb; she didn't believe her, but she wouldn't get involved if Sterling didn't want to. So they walked out together to the backyard where all the girls and her parents were.
When she entered the backyard, she saw Kate waiting for her, seated on a chair, and an empty chair on her side waiting for her. She smiled. She's so in love with her.
THE CLOCK MARKED ELEVEN PM, the girls landed in Iowa one hour ago. Kate and Sterling were emptying their suitcases. They were in Sterling's room; they were going to spend the night there. After that they were ready to go to bed.
The two girls brushed their teeth and got back in the bedroom ready to go to bed. Each girl chose their side of the bed, and they covered their bodies with the blanket of the bed.
The head of the blonde girl started to go around, remembering what Alessia told her when they were saying goodbye. "Did you talk to Alessia? She apologized to me for her behavior lately," Kate said, turning to see her girlfriend.
Sterling smiled at her. "No," she lied.
"She said she loves me," Kate smiled, remembering what the younger girl told her; it was comforting knowing that Alessia doesn't hate her after all. Martin loves Alessia; she wouldn't be okay if she knew that she hates her.
Sterling was still smiling at the blonde; she hugged her and pressed a kiss on her cheek. "She does," she said.
Kate felt relieved knowing that. She always loved Alessia since the first time she met her; it was her girlfriend's sister. How could she stop loving her? She loves Brooklyn too; she would do anything for them. She loves Lysander and Kay too; they love her as well. And with that, Kate fell asleep with a smile on her face.
