⚠️Long. Please don't hate me. Oh and slightly violent situations. Language. Slurs⚠️
Time skip. Nearly two months have gone by. Summer has faded into autumn. The leaves have changed from green to vibrant oranges, yellows, and reds. They litter the ground just about everywhere you look having been shed by the change of seasons and leaving the trees skeletal and bare. It's gotten a bit chilly. Halloween is only a few days away. It's practically picture perfect.
Enid is an amazing teacher. Her students love her. Their families love her. Ever is thriving in her class. At home she never stops talking about Ms. Sinclair. Wednesday quickly realized that she was not delusional. Nor had she lost her mind. Enid is indeed very real. She is Ever's teacher. She is truly there in Essex Fells. There was nothing internally romantic about it. It's a bitter torture because Enid having obviously stumbled upon the Addams property in her wolf form and having Ever in her class still had not approached Wednesday. She must not care to. It hurt to be this close yet still so far a way. Wednesday wished she had been hallucinating. It would have been easier and less painful than admitting she was once again sharing space with Enid Sinclair.
Wednesday and Ever had been out for the day at a local farm picking fruit for pies, cider, and such. Ever insisted, on making a day of it and Wednesday indulged her. They navigated their way through a large corn maze. They went on a scenic hay ride, and they spent time in the petting zoo. It was something Ever really liked to do. She loved to go to the farm especially in the fall. She also loved to make things for the family to consume with Wednesday's help of course. It was a win win. They had also picked several pumpkins to paint and carve over the coming days. They were sitting in the back seat of the Belair next to Ever's booster seat. Morticia had gifted Wednesday her personal car once she had turned eighteen. It was a beautiful classic, and Wednesday cherished it.
Wednesday was thoroughly enjoying herself. She loved spending time with her daughter. Unfortunately days like today were few now. Wednesday and Ever rarely got to share this much time anymore. Wednesday had been exceptionally busy with her classes lately. Medical school was very demanding to say the least. She would often leave before Ever had to go to school and come home when she was already in bed. Wednesday's classes were accelerated, so she'll get her degree in about half the time. Then she'll be able to start her clinical rounds. However, all the stacked classes and labs were killing her. She should be studying right now, or possibly writing but she wouldn't give up these moments with Ever for anything.
Mother and daughter were sitting in a booth at a local cafe finishing their day out by having a quick lunch together. Tomato bisque and grilled cheese for the little girl. A squash soup and roasted veggie sandwich for Wednesday. Ever was talking about things that she had done at school this week, and about time spent with her grandparents, Thing, and Uncle Pugsley. Wednesday was listening intently. She was paying close attention to her daughter committing every animated detail to memory. Her eyes were soft and full of love. There was a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. Wednesday was so engrossed she missed the door opening behind them. However, Ever did not. "Ms. Sinclair!" She exclaimed. She jumped up and wrapped her tiny arms around Enid's waist. "Hi Ever!" Enid said returning her enthusiasm. Wednesday could feel Enid standing next to the table. She radiated the same calming warmth as always.
Wednesday slowly looked up. Her eyes locked with Enid's. Deep, rich brown were captured by beautiful, vibrant blue. Wednesday winced. Her eyes still unguarded momentarily and soft. It did not go unnoticed, feeling guilty Enid broke eye contact. Wednesday took a quick breath and let it out. Then the emotion was gone. Quickly replaced by the cold stoic veneer reserved for anyone but her daughter, Eugene, and as of late her family. Enid froze. Ever noticed the change in her mother and favorite teacher and raised an eyebrow looking between the two.
