Wednesday woke to a pounding on their dorm room door. She felt Enid stir beside her. "Wednesday? God who is it? What time is it? What's going on?" The wolf asked still sleepy yet immediately on edge. Enid's fangs and claws sprang out on full display. Wednesday gulped. "I don't know." She took a deep breath in through her nose then back out. She pushed the sheet off her body and sat up. Her head ached her vision was blurry. She regretted moving as soon as her feet hit the floor but it didn't deter her. "Wednesday no. What are you doing?" Enid hissed quietly. Wednesday looked back at Enid. "I'm answering the door. Stay here." She asked softly. "Wait, what no. Whoever it is can just go away. Maybe they'll come back later." Enid tried to argue. The pounding sounded through the room once more causing Wednesday to pause and Enid to jump.

Wednesday slowly took the remaining steps to reach the door. Her hand rested on the knob. She could hear shuffling in the hallway as well as the crackle of a hand held radio. Enid jumped up ready to defend them both if necessary. "Enid stay there." Wednesday grumbled. "Wha...no...Wednesday I said I would...it's my job to..." Enid stuttered. "Please." Wednesday asked somberly looking deeply into Enid's eyes. Enid nodded but readied herself just in case. Wednesday cautiously opened the door. On the other side of the threshold stood Sheriff Galpin and Deputy Santiago. The sheriff glared down into Wednesday's eyes. "Wednesday Addams you need to come with us." He growled.

"On what grounds?" Wednesday bristled. "It's standard procedure. We just have some questions that we are pretty sure only you can answer. Right now we just need your statement. You aren't in any trouble Ms. Addams. The deputy replied calmly. She glanced at the sheriff looking for confirmation. He gave none. Enid stood mouth agape behind Wednesday. "Such as? You know it's illegal to interrogate a minor without their parents present." Wednesday remarked.

Galpin slammed his hand against the door frame. "How dare you...illegal to...that didn't stop you from marching into my damn station or barging into my office at the drop of a hat did it? It didn't stop you from making demands, showing up at crime scenes, or terrifying my dispatch agent into thinking something bad had happened to her precious cat just to try to strong arm me into working with you did it Addams? You didn't need your parents for that. Now did you?" The sheriff yelled with barely contained rage. "You're no different than your willfully arrogant parents. All you outcasts are the same. You all think you're above the damn law! You may have been able to save your father, but not yourself. You are not above the law. I'm going to show you you're not!" He screamed. At this point a crowd had started to form. Students were peeking out of their rooms and starting to line the hall. Some were filming the incident on their phones.

Santiago put her hands on the sheriff's shoulders. "Don. I get you're angry, but you have to stop. We still don't know what exactly happened here. We only have one real statement so far to go off." She tried to calm him. "Get you're fucking hands off of me Ritchie. Who's side are you on here anyway?" He spat. He turned back to Wednesday with pure hatred in his eyes. "You're going to come quietly with me now, or I'm going to put you in cuffs and throw you in the back of my patrol car myself. Do I make myself clear?" The sheriff's voice was low and had an icy edge. Wednesday's eyes widened. She shook slightly. "Can I have a moment?" She asked flatly. "You've got two, then I'm cuffing you." The sheriff grumbled.

Wednesday took a step back and closed the door. She turned to the girl standing aimlessly in the middle of the room. She was in shock. Wednesday waved her hand in front of her face. Enid snapped back to reality. She wrapped her arms around Wednesday pulling her close. Wednesday allowed it. Her walls were gone. There was nothing left to divide them. "Is it over?" She mumbled into Wednesday's shoulder. After a moment Wednesday pushed back. "Unfortunately not. I have a feeling it's going to get worse. Enid I need you to get the crystal ball out of the drawer in my desk. It's in a black leather case. Contact my parents. Find thing. It is imperative you do so quickly." Enid nodded.
