" But I think we should take to to a hospital, Ash ." Brock said as he looked at Ash's leg, concerned.
" Oh don't worry about me! I'll be fine!" Ash tried to reassure his friend, and tried to put weight on his foot.
" Bulbasaur!" He shouted as he threw his poke ball." I choose you!"
Bulbasaur came out. " Saur?"
" Bulbasaur, do you think you could use your vines to make some sort of bandage for my foot?" Ash asked.
" Just until we can arrive at a hospital?" Brock added.
Ash shot him a look.
" Ash, Brock's right. We need someone to look at that leg." Misty argued.
" B.. but I'm fine!"
" Saur." Bulbasaur sighed, yet he obeyed.
As Bulbasaur wrapped the bones, Ash fumbled. " Brock's a Pokemon doctor! Pokemon and humans are almost the same!"
Brock shook his head, kneeling down to inspect Ash's leg again. "Ash, humans and Pokémon are not the same. You could have a serious injury, and a hospital has the right tools to help."
Misty crossed her arms, her expression stern. "Exactly. You can't just brush this off like a battle injury, Ash."
Ash gritted his teeth, trying to keep the stubborn look on his face, but the pain in his leg was making it hard to argue. "I know, I know... I just hate slowing us down."
Brock smiled softly. "You're not slowing us down. We'll be a lot slower if you're stuck limping for days."
Bulbasaur finished wrapping the vines around Ash's leg, making sure they were tight but not too constricting. "Saur," it said softly, looking up at Ash with concern.
Ash gave a small smile, patting Bulbasaur's head. "Thanks, buddy. I guess... maybe we can head to the hospital. Just in case."
Brock and Misty each grabbed one of Ash's arms, pulling him gently to his feet. The moment Ash tried to put weight on his injured leg, he winced, biting his lip to stop from crying out.
"Ah!" Ash gasped. The pain was sharper than he had expected, shooting up his leg.
"Pika!" Pikachu squeaked, rushing over and pressing against Ash's side, trying to help support his weight. It was a sweet gesture, but Pikachu's small size didn't exactly help much. Still, Ash couldn't help but smile at his loyal companion's effort.
"Thanks, Pikachu," Ash said with a pained chuckle. "But I think I need a little more help than you can give right now."
"Let's take it slow, Ash," Brock said, adjusting his grip to make sure Ash wouldn't fall. Misty nodded in agreement, steadying him from the other side.
"Yeah, don't push yourself. We'll get you to the hospital as fast as we can," Misty added, her voice softer now that she could see just how much pain Ash was in.
Ash took a deep breath and nodded, trying his best to stay optimistic despite the throbbing pain in his leg. "Alright... let's go."
They started off fast, with Ash hopping and Misty and Brock helping.
But Ash's pain in his leg was increasing, and soon he couldn't move.
" OWWWWWWWW!" He yelled as he hobbled and clutched his leg.
Brock moved to his side and took his backpack off. " Ask, remove your shoe for me."
He took out bandages and other stuff Ash had no idea about.
Ash obeyed, and winced as he took his shoe off. Brock gently took it and picked up a bottle.
He uncapped the bottle, which Ash immediately recognized by the sharp scent—it was a disinfectant. "This might sting a little, Ash, but it'll help," Brock warned as he poured a small amount onto a cloth.
Ash braced himself, gripping Misty's arm as Brock dabbed the cloth gently around the injury. The sting was immediate, and Ash clenched his teeth. "Ow! Okay, that hurts more than a little!" he exclaimed, half-joking despite the pain.
Misty tightened her hold on Ash's arm. "Hang in there, Ash. Brock knows what he's doing."
Brock gave Ash a reassuring smile, then grabbed the bandages and started wrapping them tightly around Ash's foot and ankle. "This should hold until we get to the hospital. You probably sprained it pretty badly."
Ash looked down at his leg, already feeling a little more stable with the bandages in place, but he was still worried about walking. "Thanks, Brock. But how are we gonna keep going if I can't even walk?"
Before anyone could answer, Pikachu scampered up, looking determined. "Pika-pi!" it chirped, pointing at something nearby.
Brock glanced at Pikachu and followed its gaze. "That's it! There's a Pokémon Center just over that hill. We can get you there, and Nurse Joy should be able to help."
Ash sighed in relief, though the pain was still pulsing through his leg. "Alright... let's give it a shot."
Brock and Misty helped Ash back up, moving even more cautiously this time. Pikachu trotted alongside, staying close, as they made their way toward the Pokémon Center—hopeful that Nurse Joy would know just what to do.
When they finally made it to the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy greeted them with her usual cheerful demeanor. But after taking one look at Ash's leg and hearing what had happened, she frowned. "I'm sorry, but this type of injury is outside my expertise. I can take care of Pokémon, but human injuries need a proper hospital."
Ash, always trying to stay positive, waved it off. "It's fine, Nurse Joy! I'll be okay. I'll hold out until we can reach the hospital."
Brock immediately shot him a stern look. "No, Ash. You won't just 'hold out.' You need to take this seriously."
Ash, stubborn as ever, crossed his arms. "I'm fine, Brock! I've been through worse in battles."
Misty stepped in, hands on her hips. "Ash, this isn't a Pokémon battle. If you don't get proper help soon, you could make it worse."
Pikachu, sensing the tension, looked between everyone, its ears twitching anxiously. "Pika..." it muttered, clearly worried.
Brock sighed and put a hand on Ash's shoulder. "You're not invincible, Ash. Just let us help you. If you push yourself too hard now, you'll be out of commission for a long time. That means no more adventures, no more battles, and no more journeys. Is that what you want?"
Ash looked away, conflicted. He hated feeling weak or like a burden. But seeing the concern in his friends' eyes—and knowing Brock was right—he finally relented. "Okay... fine. But I don't want to be stuck in a hospital bed forever."
Brock smiled, relieved. "We'll make sure you get the care you need. The sooner we take care of this, the sooner you'll be back on your feet."
Nurse Joy nodded, stepping forward again. "I'll call for an ambulance right away. In the meantime, rest here."
Ash sighed and sat down, feeling the weight of the situation finally settle in. Pikachu climbed into his lap, offering silent comfort. "Thanks, guys," Ash muttered. "I guess I've got no choice, huh?"
Misty smiled. "Nope. You're stuck with us looking after you for now."
