" Yeah? Well I'll block all of them off!"
" Ash! Calm down and let's make a plan! Hey!"
" Im doing this my way! Let me handle them!"
" It's that type of recklessness that put those Sheildon on danger in the first place.
" Whatcha say?"
"Cool it, Ash."
" I'm afraid Gary's right."
" Pika pika."
Ash looked at Pikachu and sighed.
Gary took a computer out and started to type. " If we keep this up those creeps will find us for sure!"
Suddenly, a Starmie came flying to their hiding spot. Ash studied it
" Hmm.... That Starmie....."
Suddenly he gasped and threw a Poke Ball.
" Gengar!" He whispered. " Find her and levitate her here as discreetly as possible."
" Gengar!"
Gary put a hand on Ash's shoulder. " What are you doing?"
" She's here. This is her Starmie."
" Who's here?" Dawn asked.
Suddenly, Gengar levitated a red haired girl to their hiding spot. Ash helped her down and knelt besides her. " Misty?"
Misty opened her eyes, saw her boyfriend, and smiled faintly. " Hi, Ash."
Ash hugged her gently, careful not to injure her. " What happened?"
Misty winced slightly as she sat up. Ash held her steady.
" There were Sheildon somewhere in these woods, Ash. And that Hunter was hunting them down. Ash, I had to do something! So I sent all my pokemon into battle."
" Except Psyduck and Togepi?"
" That's obvious!"
Ash laughed nervously. " Right. Sorry. Continue."
" Anyway, that Hunter has good Pokemon. You might have to be a better trainer to take her on."
" Wah!" He fell the the ground in shock, but quickly recovered. " Could you stop with the bullying, Misty?"
" Well it's true!"
" No it's not!"
Misty raised a brow. " Before we split ways in Johto, I clearly remember you losing half the battles!"
" Not true!"
" Then why did you act like that the day we went to get you that earth badge?"
" Because Gary was there!"
" And what does that have to do with anything?"
" It has everything to do with it, Mist!" Ash threw his hands up
" Okay, let's calm down....." Brock said .
Dawn raised a brow. " Are they always like this?"
" You have no idea."
Ash sighed. " Well, we have to get these Sheildon outta here. Nothing's gonna change."
Gary scoffed. " Oh they're gonna change alright. Change for the worst!"
Ash looked at Misty. " Can you walk?"
Misty stood up, but her right leg made her wince.
" Easy, Misty, easy." Ash yelped as he ran to her side.
Gary took out bandages. " Let me see." He said.
With the help from Ash, Misty sat down. Gary examined the leg and gave a low whistle. " Yep, this thing's sprained."
Ash clenched his fists as he watched Gary bandage Misty's leg. "I can't believe this happened. Those hunters won't get away with this!"
Misty winced slightly but managed a smirk. "Ash, don't get all hot-headed now. You'll need to focus if we're gonna stop them. You always rush in without thinking."
Ash's face flushed with frustration. "I'm not rushing in! I just-"
"You always rush in," Gary cut in, smirking. "It's why you always needed me to bail you out back in the day."
Ash shot Gary a glare. "I don't need bailing out! I've got a plan!"
"Oh, yeah? What plan?" Gary challenged, crossing his arms.
Ash opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. He quickly turned to Pikachu for backup. "Pikachu, back me up!"
"Pika..." Pikachu said hesitantly, giving a small shrug.
Dawn chuckled, shaking her head. "Classic Ash."
Brock sighed and stepped forward. "Alright, enough bickering, you two. We've got to work together if we're going to protect the Shieldon."
Gary, now focused on the task at hand, nodded. "He's right. The hunters are using some strong Pokémon. We need a solid strategy, not just brute force. And Misty can't fight like this."
Ash looked back at Misty, who was attempting to stand again but faltered. "Misty, you need to rest. You're in no condition to fight."
Misty, ever the stubborn one, shook her head. "I'm not sitting on the sidelines, Ash. Those Shieldon need help. We'll deal with my leg later."
Ash bit his lip, conflicted. He admired Misty's determination, but he didn't want her to push herself too hard. "Alright," he sighed. "But no overdoing it. We'll figure something out."
Gary nodded in agreement, pulling up the map on his computer. "The hunters are closing in on the northern part of the forest. We've got to intercept them before they can trap the Shieldon."
Brock adjusted his backpack. "We can use the terrain to our advantage. If we can force them into the riverbank, they'll be stuck between us and the water."
Ash brightened up. "Yeah, then Misty's water Pokémon can hold them off! That'll buy us some time."
Gary raised an eyebrow. "You sure you're not just making this up as you go?"
Ash grinned. "Isn't that what a plan is? Figuring it out as you go?"
Misty chuckled softly, leaning on Ash's shoulder. "Well, I guess it's worked for us so far."
Brock clapped his hands. "Alright, let's get moving before those hunters find the Shieldon."
Ash helped Misty up once more, his expression serious now. "I won't let anything happen to you or the Shieldon, Misty. We'll stop them together."
Misty smiled, her fiery spirit returning. "That's more like it, Ash."
With their plan (or lack thereof) in place, the group headed out, determined to stop the hunters and protect the wild Pokémon. As they moved through the dense forest, Ash's mind raced, but his heart remained resolute. He might not always have the perfect plan, but with his friends by his side, he knew they'd find a way to win-just like always.
