" You can't expect amateur Pokemon Trainers to have any control over their pokemon."
" WHAAAAAAT?!"
" Keep your cool, Ash."
Suddenly, they heard whistling.
Familiar whistling
Gary and Ash groaned.
" Here comes the walking nightmare." Gary sighed.
" You mean monster." Ash corrected
Wisty smirked as she walked up to them, hands in pocket. " How are the two best friends doing?"
Harrison and Jackson exchanged a look. "' friends'?" Jackson asked
Harrison shrugged helplessly.
Wisty smirked as she took a paper out and started to unravel it. " Hey, boys, remember these?"
And with that, she showed the two boys the most devastatingly embarrassing pictures of their lives.
One picture showed Gary and Ash playing pirates, and another of Gary and Ash playing doctor.
But the third was the two playing. Wedding.
Gary’s face flushed a deep red as he stared at the pictures Wisty was holding up, his jaw practically hitting the floor. Ash wasn’t faring much better—his eyes were wide, and he was sputtering incoherently.
"W-WISTY!" Ash finally managed to choke out. "Where did you even get those?!"
Gary, still mortified, crossed his arms defensively. "Those were private. How the heck did you get them?!"
Wisty grinned, absolutely reveling in their embarrassment. "Oh, you know, I have my ways. A little digging around in the family albums, a little blackmail with Mom... You’d be amazed what you can find when you look hard enough."
Ash lunged forward, trying to grab the pictures out of her hand. "Give those back!"
Wisty sidestepped him easily, holding the pictures just out of reach. "Uh-uh, not so fast, big brother. You didn’t think I’d just give them to you, did you?"
Gary, still processing the horror of the wedding picture, groaned and buried his face in his hands. "Please tell me this is some kind of nightmare..."
Jackson and Harrison, meanwhile, were trying—and failing—to suppress their laughter. Jackson nudged Harrison. "Well, I guess we know what kind of 'friends' they were, huh?"
Harrison chuckled. "Yeah, best friends who apparently liked to play house. This just keeps getting better."
Misty and Brock, who had been watching from a distance, exchanged amused glances. "I kind of feel bad for them," Misty said, though she was clearly trying to stifle a giggle.
Brock shook his head, grinning. "Hey, it’s good for them to be knocked down a peg or two."
Wisty waved the pictures teasingly in front of Ash and Gary, her grin growing wider by the second. "I mean, look at you two! Such adorable little playmates. Pirates, doctors, and a wedding? You guys were inseparable!"
"WE WERE KIDS!" Ash shouted, his face still burning with embarrassment. "That doesn’t mean anything!"
Gary groaned again, not even trying to defend himself at this point. "Why, Wisty? Why do you do this?"
Wisty shrugged nonchalantly. "Because it’s fun. And you two make it way too easy."
Ash clenched his fists, his face scrunched up in frustration. "I swear, Wisty, if you don’t give those back right now—"
"Oh, come on," Wisty interrupted, her tone mockingly sweet. "You should be proud of these memories! After all, they show just how close you two have always been. Best friends forever, right?"
Gary shot her a withering glare. "We are not best friends. We’re rivals!"
Wisty rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, rivals, blah blah blah. Rivals who play doctor and get married in their spare time."
Ash, utterly fed up, tried one more time to grab the pictures. "I’m serious, Wisty! Give them back!"
This time, Wisty let him snatch the pictures from her hand, but not before giving him a parting smirk. "Fine, fine. But don’t think I don’t have backups."
Ash's eyes widened in horror. "You... you have more?!"
Wisty winked. "Let’s just say I’m very well-prepared."
Gary shook his head, still looking mortified. "I don’t know how you can live with yourself."
Wisty chuckled. "Oh, it’s easy when you have this much leverage." She started to walk away, still grinning to herself. "Catch you two lovebirds later!"
As she disappeared into the distance, Ash and Gary stood in stunned silence for a few moments, each still processing what had just happened.
Finally, Ash sighed and crumpled the pictures in his hands. "I hate her."
Gary, still staring after Wisty with a mixture of disbelief and exasperation, nodded. "Yeah. Me too."
Jackson leaned over to Harrison again, still grinning from ear to ear. "You know, I always thought rivalries were supposed to be intense. But this... this is something else."
Harrison snickered. "Yeah, more like sibling chaos."
Ash glared at them. "Don’t even start."
But despite his warning, the two couldn’t help but burst into laughter, leaving Ash and Gary standing there, utterly defeated by Wisty’s relentless teasing.
