" I just want to make sure you DESERVE to be Ash's buddy, understand?"

" Agh! Come on! What is WITH this guy?!" Goh yelled as he accusingly pointed at Gary.

A sweat drop appeared on Ash's head. " Oh, well, he always used to act this way with me. By the way, what was the goal you were talking about?"

" A legenda-"

Before he could finish, an Altaria dropped a girl with a pink dress and blue shoes onto Gary, tackling him onto the ground.

" HE'S HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE!"

Gary winced slightly. " Wisty, you're gonna make me deaf one day or ano- WOAH!" he yelped as Wisty, with suprising strength for her young age, grabbed Gary by the hand and started to spin.

Well, Wisty's feet stayed on the ground. Gary's?

Not so much.

Well, not at all.

In fact, HIS feet were in the air like a ragdoll's, and he yelped everytime Wisty swung him.

" WISTY YOU'RE GONNA KILL HIM!" Ash yelled.

Wisty stopped.

But before she did, she swung Gary into a high tree. With a yelp, he went from the ground to soaring in the air to being stuck in a tree.

Ash rushed to the base of the tree, looking up at Gary, who was clinging to a branch and trying to regain his composure.

"Are you okay?" Ash shouted, concern etched on his face.

Gary glared down at him, clearly not impressed. "Do I LOOK okay?! I’m stuck in a tree!"

"Hang on! I’ll get you down!" Ash said, determination filling his voice. He reached up and grabbed onto Gary’s pant leg, pulling with all his might.

"Whoa, easy!" Gary protested, but before he could finish, Ash pulled harder, and suddenly there was a loud rip!

"Oh no..." Ash muttered, his eyes wide as he realized what was happening.

In an instant, Gary’s khaki cargo pants slipped down his legs, falling right off and landing—plop—on Goh's head.

"WHAT THE—" Goh shouted, startled as he looked up and saw the pants perched atop him like a hat.

Gary's face turned a shade of red that rivaled a Charizard's flames. He looked down, horrified. "ASH! WHAT DID YOU DO?!"

Ash’s mouth dropped open in shock. "I’m sorry, Gary! Please, please still be my friend!"

Gary, now left in just his boxers and black shoes, glared down at Ash, who was trying to stifle his laughter but failing miserably. "This is not how friends treat each other!"

"Well, it’s not my fault you got swung into a tree!" Ash shot back, trying to defend himself while still chuckling.

Gary huffed, trying to adjust his boxers as best as he could while still gripping the branch. "This is so embarrassing! Get me down!"

Ash, realizing the gravity of the situation, scrambled back to the trunk. "Okay, okay! Just... hold on tight!"

With another pull, Ash managed to yank Gary free from the branch, but not without causing another disaster. Gary landed with a thud in front of Ash, his pants still sitting smugly atop Goh's head.

"Well, this is awkward," Goh said, staring at the pants as if they were a strange artifact.

Gary's face was still crimson as he scrambled to pull his pants back on, but Ash had already lunged forward and wrapped his arms around him in a tight hug, squeezing him affectionately.

"I'm so sorry, Gary!" Ash exclaimed, his voice muffled as he buried his face in Gary's shoulder. "I promise I didn’t mean for this to happen!"

Gary's eyes widened in disbelief. "Ash, let go! You're making it worse!"

But Ash held on tighter, oblivious to Gary's discomfort. "You’re my best friend! I can't lose you over a little... mishap!"

The moment was so ridiculous that Goh couldn't help but laugh, doubling over as he watched the scene unfold.

"Aw, come on, Gary! This is a bonding moment!" he chuckled, pointing at the two.

Gary finally managed to push Ash away, his expression a mix of anger and embarrassment. "This is not a bonding moment! This is mortifying! Just get my pants off Goh's head!"

Still snickering, Ash nodded and quickly grabbed the pants from Goh, tossing them back to Gary, who finally pulled them on and secured them properly.

"There! Now can we please pretend this never happened?" Gary muttered, smoothing out his shirt.

Ash grinned sheepishly. "Sure... but you have to admit, it was kind of funny!"

Gary shot him a deadpan look. "Funny for you, maybe."

Goh, still chuckling, chimed in, "At least you weren't wearing something embarrassing underneath!"

Gary shot both of them a glare. "Don’t you dare go there!"
