As Misty’s voice echoed through the empty halls of the Pokémon Center, a sense of desperation filled the air. “Ash?” she called again, her voice wavering. The silence that followed was heavy, almost suffocating.
“Ash!” Brock shouted, his tone shifting from concern to frustration. “We forgive you!”
Misty’s heart raced. “AAAAASH?!” she yelled, panic creeping into her voice. “Please come, Ash! Please!”
When no response came, Misty let out a shaky breath, the weight of the situation crashing down on her. “We should have never scolded him for helping the Center,” she murmured, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
Brock nodded, regret lining his features. “That is so true.”
Misty shot him a look that could have melted steel. “Brock!”
“Sorry, sorry. I just really want to find him,” he replied, his expression softening as he glanced toward the door.
Misty sighed, her heart aching. “So do I.”
As Ash worked quickly to fix the flickering lights in the Pokémon Center, a sense of urgency filled the room. He climbed down from the ladder and brushed off his hands, looking proud of his work. But when he turned around, he found Misty and Brock standing there, their expressions a mixture of relief and frustration.
“Misty, look! I fixed it!” Ash said, a smile spreading across his face.
“Yeah, we can see that,” Misty replied, her voice tight. “But why do you always put yourself in danger like this? You could’ve gotten hurt!”
Brock nodded, crossing his arms. “You need to think before you act, Ash. It’s not just about you—there are other people who care about you!”
Ash felt his smile falter, a knot forming in his stomach. “I was just trying to help!” he protested, his voice rising slightly. “I thought you’d be happy that I fixed it.”
“Happy? Ash, we’re worried! You can’t just jump into dangerous situations without considering the consequences,” Misty exclaimed, her frustration spilling over.
“But it worked out, didn’t it?” Ash shot back defensively. “I got the lights back on. What’s the big deal?”
Misty took a step forward, her expression softening momentarily. “The big deal is that we don’t want to lose you, Ash. You’re always rushing into things without thinking. It’s reckless!”
Brock added, “We care about you, and we don’t want to see you hurt. Just please, be more careful.”
Their words hit Ash like a punch to the gut. He felt the sting of their concern, but instead of comfort, it felt like a weight dragging him down. “You don’t understand,” he said, his voice barely a whisper. “I have to prove myself. I can’t just sit back and let things happen.”
