" Ladies and Gentlemen, with three of Harrison's Pokemon unable to battle, we'll be taking a short break."
Ash smiled at Snorlax. " You did good."
" ASH LOOK OUT!" Misty screeched as she pointed up
Ash looked.... And was hit by a metal rod.
Hard
Ash fell, but got up almost immediately, clutching his head
" Ash!" Gary yelled as he pushed off the wall and ran to his friend, gently taking Ash's hand off his face. " Ash, look at me. Where were you hit?"
Misty and Brock jumped up too. " Where'd it come from?"
" PIKA PIIIII!"
everyone turned to see Pikachu being lifted.
Ash gasped. " Pikachu!"
He jumped and managed to grab onto Pikachu, climbing up to hold his Pokemon protectively in his arms.
Then he heard a laugh.
Or was it a cackle?
Ash groaned. " Not this again...."
" To protect the world from devastation._
" To unite all peoples within our nation."
" To denounce the evils of truth and love."
" To extended our reach to the stars above."
" Jessie."
" James."
" Team Rocket Blasting off at the speed of light!"
" Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
" Meowth! That's right!"
" Can't you see we're in the middle of a battle??" Ash yelled.
Team Rocket looked down from their balloon.
" Look, it's the twerp." Meowth piped up.
" What should we do?" Jessie asked.
James laughed maniacaly as he pressed a button. " Not to worry. That's alright handled."
He grabbed a metal rod and threw it down
It hid Ash hard
This time, Ash lost all consciousness. He Blacked out, and let go of Pikachu.
Gary's eyes widened and he threw a Pokeball. " Blastoise, catch that kid!"
Blastoise jumped into the air and caught Ash, then gave him to Gary.
Meanwhile, Brock had thrown a Pokeball. " Onix, let's go!"
The rock type came out.
" Onix, use your tail to jump up high. Then, grab Pikachu and use rock throw to punch their balloon!"
Onix let out a roar and obeyed.
Jessie's eyes narrowed. " Oh no you don't! Arbok, let's go!"
" Charbok!"
" Arbok, use poison sting!"
Gary, meanwhile, had taken Ash up to his room and laid him down on the bed.
" Poor Ashy Boy." He muttered as he grabbed his bag and dumped out the tools. " He didn't deserve this. It's the silver conference. He worked hard. And because of Team Rocket and their greediness, he's out cold."
He picked a stethoscope up and slid it under Ash's shirt, sliding it over to get a better listen of what was going on inside.
Gary placed his stethoscope on Ash’s chest, listening carefully. He sighed with relief at the steady heartbeat beneath the cold metal. "You’ll be alright, Ash,” he murmured, setting the stethoscope aside. He grabbed a small flashlight and gently shined it into Ash’s eyes, watching for any response.
Ash stirred, his eyelids fluttering. “Pika… chu…?”
Gary smiled, relieved to see Ash waking up. "Easy there, Ash. Just relax for a bit.”
Just then, the door swung open, and Misty ran in, holding a very worried-looking Pikachu in her arms. “Ash!” she called, hurrying over.
Pikachu’s eyes lit up as it spotted Ash, and with a quick leap from Misty’s arms, it bounded onto the bed and snuggled against Ash, letting out a joyful "Pika-pika-chupi!"
Ash managed a weak smile, wrapping his arms around his little buddy. “Pikachu... you’re okay…” He gave Pikachu a gentle hug, and Pikachu nuzzled him back, happy to be in Ash’s arms again.
Suddenly, Ash’s eyes widened, and he tried to sit up. “The tournament! I have to—”
Gary gently pressed him back onto the bed. “No, Ash, you’re staying right here,” he said firmly.
“But, Gary, I have to go!” Ash protested, his voice filled with urgency.
Gary shook his head. “Misty and Brock already spoke to the announcer. You’re taking a day off to rest.”
Ash opened his mouth to argue, but Gary cut him off. “Listen, kiddo, you took two hard hits today. You need to rest. If you go back out there without taking it easy, you’ll just make things worse.”
Ash sighed, looking down at Pikachu, who was still snuggled up in his arms. The little Pokémon gave him an encouraging “Pika pi,” as if agreeing with Gary.
Misty chimed in, her tone soft but insistent. “Gary’s right, Ash. You worked so hard to get here, and if you’re not at full strength, you won’t be able to do your best in the tournament.”
Ash let out a defeated sigh, nodding reluctantly. “I guess you’re right…”
Gary gave him an approving smile, grabbing a cool cloth and gently placing it on Ash’s forehead. “Good call, Ash. Besides, tomorrow you’ll be back to your full strength.”
Ash nodded and closed his eyes, and Gary smiled faintly.
Ash was okay
